Albus will never understand.

Why can't I tell him?

What if he abandons me?

What if he tells everyone?

What if my father disowns me?

These thoughts bounced around Scorpius' mind, a million what-ifs calling for attention.

He leaned backwards and forwards, like a rocking horse. Scorpius' back was hunched, face hidden in the darkness between the gap of his chest and knees.

He had often had moments like these lately, when his mother had died. Days spent in his rooms, listening to the sounds of his father mourning.

The house had been covered and coated in onyx, reflecting the darkness of the mood that surrounded the manor.

Scorpius shuddered at the memory, and he shut his eyes tight, resting in the ease of the darkness.

He had wrapped himself up so tightly in the world of black, he didn't hear the nearly inaudible sounds of footsteps echoing up the stairs, padding into Albus' room.

Suddenly, warm arms wound around Scorpius' body.

"Hi," Albus whispered.

The Malfoy paused at the contact, mind afloat with words and sentences. Then, everything went blank.

Scorpius lifted his head, cheeks pale and white, the colour of pure snow. His eyes were a stormy, charcoal gray tone, and his lips were a faint pink.

Albus' heart raced at the sight of his friend's rumpled hair and tired face. "Is everything okay?" He attempted, voice slightly shaky.

His emerald eyes widened as Scorpius leaned closer and closer, noses almost touching...

Then, Scorpius kissed him.

Chapter Question:

Scorpius seemed quite conflicted about his feelings, in this chapter and the chapter before it. From listening to Rhea's plan, to having a panic attack about his emotions. Can you explain why it's so difficult for him?

A/N: Haha, you're not going to be so happy soon ;)
