Hello again! It's been a while, huh?

I apologise again guys, I'm seriously bad at this whole regular update stuff.

So here's another chapter... It's short and a little rushed but at least it's a chapter!

Hope you guys like it, please let me know if you do!

Enjoy

Sam's POV

I sit on the fountain and strum my guitar. Without planning to, I start playing the song I wrote for Emily. A little collection of chords that I believed to match her completely, that were just as beautiful as she was.

I started writing this when I had first met her. Her voice when she spoke was so beautiful to my ears that I had to translate that sound into music. The result is nowhere as close to sounding as beautiful as she does, but it's as close as I'm going to get.

This is the first song I sang for Derek today, the one for someone special. When it plays for the first time for the world to hear, I hope she knows it's for her. I hope she listens to it, smiles, and then sings along. I hope hearing it makes her happy.

I just wish I could be with her when it gets played for the first time. I wish I could see her face and watch her reaction. I just wish I could be with her.

Words can't explain how much I miss her.

It's then that I start to hear humming. The person is humming along as I play, their voice blending with my chords perfectly. There's only one person whose voice would match the song in this way.

Emily.

She's here; she's on the other side of the fountain.

Now what do I do?

Do I sit here and continue playing; knowing that the woman I'm madly in love with is on the other side of the fountain?

Or do I dig down to find my courage, stand up and meet her on the other side?

Before I can think about it too much, my legs seem to have made the decision for me.

They stand me up and start walking me around slowly, all the while strumming Emily's song. Her humming is getting louder and now I'm certain that it's her. I'm about to see her again.

I continue walking around until I can see her feet, and then her legs.

Next thing I know, I see all of her.

And I'm standing directly in front of the future Queen of England.

She's looks just as beautiful as ever, her mouth hanging open as she's staring at me. Her green eyes shine with shock and I've never wanted to kiss someone as much as I do now.

"Sam..." she whispers.

Her voice gives me goose bumps and brings back the best of memories.

I love her; I love her with everything in me.

I just smile and continue to strum her song. I've missed seeing her, and watching her sitting here smiling makes me wonder why I ever left her in the first place.

Whatever it was that was the problem, I can't seem to remember any more. I can't remember why I left her or why I'm not with her anymore. Just looking at her has wiped my memory clean.

I slowly start sitting down next to her, never taking my eyes of the emerald green that I adore so much. Compared with the last time I saw them, they're now shining with happiness.

Emily deserves to always have happiness in her eyes; sadness just doesn't belong there.

Finally, my song comes to an end.

"You're here," she breathes out, her eyes searching every inch of my face.

"Yeah I am, this is my park too you know," she breathes out a laugh, her eyes filling with tears.

I reach out my hand and wipe away the first tear to escape. Her skin feels just as soft as it did last time I touched it, it feels like forever since I've touched her.

"I've missed you..." she sighs.

Then I remember.

I remember why I can't be with her. I'm not good enough.

I move my hand away as quickly as possible, going to rest it back by my side. Emily looks at me confused, sadness filling her eyes once again.

No, I don't want to see that look in her eyes. I can't bear to see them fill with tears and watch them roll down her cheeks. I hate the fact that I'm the cause of this.

"I've missed you so much Emily," I sigh, looking deep into her sad eyes.

She smiles, but it barely reaches her eyes. I want to make her happy; I want to see her smile again.

"Close your eyes," I tell her.

She looks at me confused.

"Why...?" she asks, her look sceptical.

"Just trust me," I smile.

Luckily, she smiles back before closing her eyes.

I take this second to understand the beauty that is Emily.

Everything about her is perfect, from her full lips to the long eyelashes resting under her closed eyes.

I can't stop myself enjoying this moment with her.

I reach over and rest my hand on her cheek, stroking it gently. I hear her breathe catch in her throat, clearly surprised by the sudden contact. She then relaxes into my touch, one of her hands coming up to rest on top of mine. Her touch feels warm despite the cold; I've missed the feel of her hand.

I lean in slowly, looking at every inch of the face that I've memorised. I lean in until my forehead is resting against hers, and I can feel the deep breath that she takes in.

"Keep your eyes closed okay," I whisper.

"Okay."

It's then that I lean all the way.

I feel the touch of her lips on mine for a second before pulling away slowly. Her eyes snap open at the contact until they're staring straight at me. There's shock radiating from them until it melts away to reveal a look of wonder.

It's then her that she leans in.

I feel her lips for real this time, the fire that I've missed so much. I reach behind her until my hands are resting on her back, and with one push, her body is against mine. She provides this warmth that I've been without for so long, this warmth that I've forgotten the feel of. Now that I have it again, I don't want to ever let go.

Slowly, we start to pull away.

And I fall in love all over again.
