Minutes passed, no one was saying a word. The air became thick. The tension never left their shoulders. Mine, too. That little time, I composed myself. I squared my shoulders. Pinunasan ko ang pisngi ko. My eyes were red from crying, sloppy cheeks. But I stood straight. If I could just shrug it easily, it is hard. I guess...

I let the words sank.

Dani is pregnant.

Quivering lips, I inhaled. Some tears pricked my eyes. Mabilis kong pinunasan ito.

I let myself drink the word of encouragement. But my mind won't accept any fucking word.

"I want to see my sister," ani Jared, "by the way, I don't need your permission. I let myself see Danielle, whether you like or not." Jared's jaw tightened. A sliver of anger. Sumilip siya sa akin, nawala ang pagkakaigting ng kanyang panga. "In what room, Grace?" Kumalabog muli ang dibdib ko sa pagkakatanong niya sa akin. "Upstairs?" Humakbang si Jared ngunit kumilos naman si Densel. Humarang siya kay Jared. I looked at his tense back. He can't even look at me. Densel.

I felt like all the oxygen was leaving my body.

"Montefrio," matigas na sagot ni Densel. His back was rising and falling. He was breathing heavily.

I almost startled at the sound of his voice. I can't see his reaction. His fists clenched, tightly.

Jared glowered at him. A smirk played across his lips for a minute.

"Like I said, I don't need your permission, Alegre," ani Jared, eyes glaring. Hard. He was going to shove him but Densel spoke.

"Out," Densel breathed the word like a poison. He didn't motion anything. I could see the vein in his neck.

"I just want to see my sister who is apparently pregnant. I am his family. I don't see any problem here." Hinayaan ni Jared ang pilit na tawa ngunit sa bawat salita'y nandoon ang inis. "And also," he added. He gripped his shoulder. "I couldn't see the reason it should be keep as a secret. She's pregnant. Bakit hindi namin pwedeng malaman? Even Grace, your girlfriend?" His brow raised. Shaking his head, he continued, "That's absurdity. In my word. If you wouldn't mind." Inalis niya ang kamay sa balikat ni Densel. "I wasted so much words here. I want to see Danielle." He looked at me.

I remained at my place, shocked, at Jared. His words. It was right. He rarely speak so much words. But it strikes, hitting the spot in the middle.

Nag-umpisa nang kumilos si Jared ngunit napahinto siya nang umere ang mga salita ko.

"Is it yours?" I don't know if I said it clearly. I repeated, "Is it yours? Are you?"

This time, Densel turned around. He looked at me, piercing my soul in that gaze. His face twitched at my words. I couldn't read him like always. I couldn't know what he was thinking. I was left out. I don't know. Sumikip ang dibdib ko sa nakita kong reaksyon ng kanyang mukha. Why can he say anything? Simple lang naman ang tanong ko. Yes or no? If he's the father of Dani's unborn child. Why can't he utter a fucking yes or no?

Dumadagundong ang tibok ng aking puso sa pagtitig niya sa akin. Para bang hinahayaan niya 'kong ako ang sumagot sa sarili kong katanungan. He want me to answer it because he knew from his heart, I know the answer. He was trusting me. But I couldn't...I don't know. Hindi ko alam kung anong tama. Umiling ako.
