We all screamed and through our grad hats high into the warm summer air, finally free of this hell called school. Or at least most people were I was headed to start a new part of my life called college and was overly excited. I gave each teacher a quick hug and gift card I've earned from work, "Riley you'll do great," Mr. Boston said tapping me on the back I gave him another squeeze and then let go I grabbed my mom by the waist and our hips crashed together as she cried some more.
"I'm just so happy for you," she cried some more as Kevin put the kids away,
"Can you make sure my room is good?" I asked pulling her back to look at her tear stained face,
"Of course I will," she teared some more
"Why aren't you coming home? Please come home," she gasped
"I'm coming home mom their going for a free grad dinner," I said nodding towards the group,
"And then meet at the park for pictures,"
"Of course mom don't worry I'll be there just check my room okay?"
"Okay," I pulled myself away from her as she argued with Kevin about driving eventually she would loose and we both knew that.

I pushed with all my might to get the stupid suitcase in the back of the it finally went and I shoved the door down hard probably crushing a few things,
"Mom don't cry, listen I have to come back all of my stuff is still upstairs," I said grabbing her shoulders and making her look at me, "Trust me I'm not leaving like that for a very long time,"
"Ever," mom said, I looked at her, "Promise me you won't ever leave me?" She asked I crossed my fingers behind my back
"I promise," I said locking pinkies, Alec saw me and he grinned.
"Goodbye Riwey I hope you have fun in Stwarbewy," Ava said fake crying into my legs,
"Stanford and I got you something," I said pulling her chin up, her eyes lit up I reached in my back pocket and grabbed a ring pop, she gasped when I showed it to her.
"Fow me?" She asked
"Yes it is,"
"My favouwite cowor," she gasped I set her down and she grasped my legs tightly, "Don't leave!" She screamed, I giggled and Mark walked over
"Hey it's going to be okay, we can video chat every night," I say hugging him, and crossing my fingers, Alec snorts again
"Okay," he sobs
"Plus I got you something,"
"Is it awesome?" He gets excited and I walk over to the front seat of my car and pull out a present,
"Here it's so you can shoot Kevin," I say winking at him when he sees the nerf gun he smiles widely and smiles up at me. I turn to each of the Rinders giving their gifts to the kids,
"Oh Riley we really are going to miss you," Marie says patting my hair,
"See you later kiddo," Jared says and I smile pulling him into a hug he hates hugs. I turn to Alec last, I smile warmly at him feeling myself well up, he grabs my shoulder and pulls me into a tight hug,
"Where's my present?" He asks pulling back,
"You already got it on winter vacation," I whisper in reply he smiles and kisses me on the forehead friendly, even though it meant more to me. I pull back, "I love you all," I say then get into my car wiping away tears and then pulling out of the driveway. I will miss everyone so much even Alec. I see someone running down the driveway of the house and I stop, the door opens and Alec appears,
"Why?" He asks
"Why what?" I question.
"We just graduated, stay, your eighteen and going to college do you even know what your going to be?" Alec said, he was true I didn't know what I wanted to be, I don't even know why I'm leaving so early.
"But I'm already packed," I say looking into the back of my car, I heard a bark and Alec was pulled backward.
"Stay, please Riley," Alec begged,
"What's it to you?"
"A friend," I looked back at my family they looked confused and hopeful. I looked back at Alec,
"Goodbye Alec." I say and close my door, the passenger door opens,
"Then I'm coming with you,"
"You can't you have a girlfriend," I say
"Just to make sure you make it down okay," Alec says, I bite my lip, "Better start driving I'm not getting out." I laugh, "Plus that ended after I kissed you," he laughed, I sighed, he closed the door.
"Go get your shit Rinder," I said, and put the car in park. "Your coming to college," I said
"Yes," he jumped out and got out I drove back to the house and dropped off a few boxes that weren't necessary.
"Did he win?" Mom asks
"Rinder won," I say. And smiled. He won, always.
