Chapter 17: Freedom!

Tuesday morning
❤️Riley's POV❤️
"Riley in a month I want you to come back to see me, and remember this pill every morning and every evening before bed. It'll help with your blood clot under control." Benjamin says, when he told me I could go home I actually jumped out of bed, through on some jeans and a hoody then started collecting everything. I was ready within twenty minutes, he talked to mom while I got everything in the car. Loving the smell of outside air, I get in the car saying a last goodbye to the doctor. Mom got in a short minute later, real food I'm so excited. Mom dropped me off at home talking but I was ignoring her I was so excited, "So you need to pack for your camping trip, you need to eat lunch, do the dishes and lay low," mom said, "Ill grab your homework or get the teachers to email it to you so have your laptop open," mom said helping me with the bags into my room. She kissed me on the forehead before she left, I looked across my window to see if Alec was there but he wasn't I felt sad. He was there everyday to see me, at 12:00 I heard a familiar motorbike come down the road. I jumped across the kitchen and over to the living room to see that Alec was home, I finished making my sandwich grabbed my pills and rushed upstairs. When I got up to my day bed Alec was just setting down his bag, "So why weren't you here this morning?" I asked he jumped, I laughed, "Jesus Riley you scared me," he said, "Mom knew I was going to skip so she said I had to go for half a day at least," I nodded, biting into my sandwich then studying the two bottles to see which one was the one I was supposed to take. Finally the label said 12:00 so I opened the bottle and downed a pill. "So now what are you going to do?" I asked him, I finished my sandwich I was so hyper because I was out of that crummy hospital room. "I don't know," Alec said laying back on his bed sighing, "What about you bring out your fancy kicking bag and I can kick it?" I said, "No," he said, "Your mom said that you had to lay low," Alec said, "Oh but I just took my blood clot pill so I should be okay," I said, "How about I come over there and we play a board game or something?" Alec asked, "Oh we could go swimming!" I said jumping up, "Riley no we have to lay low," Alec said climbing over, I rifled through my bikinis, "Okay hoe about we dance?" Alec asked, I peered around my dresser, "What?" I asked, "You want to be active but we have to stay low, lets dance," Alec said pressing play on my speaker, the song Lush Life blurred, Alec grabbed my hands and started spinning me around and then I spam him I laughed and fell back on my bed he picked me up and dipped me, then picked me up and set me back on my feet. I looked up at him, my hands were on his shoulders and his were on my waist, my heart was in my throat and I stood on my tip toes and began leaning in. I closed my eyes, and Alec met our lips, our lips crashing syncing. The downstairs door closed but I ignored it, he bit my lip asking if he could enter in my mouth. I heard the door handle being played with then it opened, my mother gasped as I shot across the room pushing away from the kiss, and Alec very vibrant and alive from the kiss. Alec scratched his head, mom looked at the ground and I did too embarrassed, I was so hot and probably looked like a tomato, "Can you start the laundry?" Mom asked I nodded and she closed the door, "I'm just going to..." Alec started walking back to the window and out the door, I smiled and bounced before I opened my door, collected my laundry in the hamper and took it downstairs, I don't know why I was so happy. I had been feeling quite happy of late, I loved being around Alec and was always blushy around him, but I knew i didn't like him, he was a player and even if I did like him he doesn't like me, and he's a big fat player. A hot one though, I rushed past mom and went downstairs to start the laundry. At the dinner table it was quiet except for Ava talking about her day I finished and started on the dishes, mom joined me in the kitchen, "So you and Alec are a-" "Don't mom, don't we aren't anything and never will be anything, he's a player, people kiss mom it doesn't mean anything," I said cutting mom off I saw her nod out of the corner of my eye, and went upstairs while she dealt with the kids, I looked across as I sat down in my blue chair, Alec's window was closed, but I could see him talking on the phone. The kiss made me feel alive and amazing, at 8:30 I lied down and went to sleep.

Thursday morning

I woke up and screamed, I'm going camping with a whole bunch of awesome people for a whole bunch of cheap money! Yesterday with Alec was a little bit awkward but by the end of the day, we were back to normal joking and playing around as usual, I still was dying for another kiss. Alec turned down three girls yesterday which surprised on three of us girls the guys just passed money around the table saying that someone lost a bet and someone won one. Joe got a lot of money yesterday, I dressed quickly, in the new leggings Jess and Sarah picked out for me, I put on a navy blue sweater and black nike shoes I straightened my hair that I curled for yesterday, and double checked all of my bags. I had one large suitcase, and a backpack with stuff to do some the bus ride was going to be four hours, which is why they wanted to leave at 7:30 I put on the makeup that Sarah taught me how to do, and grabbed my suitcase and backpack then raced down the stairs stuffed some food in me, then went out to my car. I am so excited, Alec came out with his stuff and through it in my car then hopped in the front seat. I went and picked up, Jess, Martin, Dylan, Kevin, an Chase, then drove to school so we could register. Everyone went their seperate ways except for Alec who decided to wait with me until, Joe and Sarah showed up. "Do you have a bus partner?" I asked Alec putting away my phone, "No," Alec said, "Want to be mine?" I asked, "Alright we can get a little funky," Alec said wiggling his eyebrows I blushed, "How about no?" I said, "How bout yes?" Alec asked, I shook my head, then walked up to the front grabbing Alec's arm. Mr. Boston stood there, "Riley Devin and Alec Rinder," he said checking us off then pointing us towards the bus, Chase and Kevin got on first, then Dylan and some girl, Me and Alec, the Sarah and Joe behind us. We claimed towards the back but not to far back because the toilet was there, I claimed the aisle seat. Sarah sat beside us, Jess and Martin in front of us, Kevin and Chase behind us, then Dylan and his girl behind Joe. Sarah looked so tired, an Joe leant against the window with his pillow, Sarah leant against him with a blanket, they were so cute. The bus started moments later and we started to drive off, I pushed my shoes off grabbed my blanket and leaned back in the seat, my legs crumbled beneath me. I closed my eyes and Alec looked out the window, I could feel someone staring at me and turned to see Sarah looking at me, 'Sleep on him," she mouthed using her hands, I looked over at Alec, 'No,' I mouthed back. 'As friends?' Sarah asked back, I sighed, and closed my eyes again, a moment later I looked down to see Alec's head in my lap, I pushed him up, stretched my legs out and leaned against the arm rest, his head rested in my lap. I started to feel sleepy, Alec took the pillow leaned against the window and stuck the small one between his legs, and patted I was so tired that I collapsed in his lap and passed out. He was running his hand through my hair and before long I fell asleep. I screamed, flying up in the air, as we went over a bump as did other girls, Alec secured his hands around my waist as I snuggled up farther resting my head on his chest feeling him breath, Alec kissed me on the top of my head. "I thought we discussed no Alec Rinder for you," someone said, whispered in a mad voice, I slowly opened my eyes, and turned my back flat against Alec's chest, there stood Tiana, "Huh?" She asked hands on her hips, I looked up Alec was sleeping, "What's your problem?" I asked her, she looked offended, "We're just friends," I said, she scoffed, "Are you kidding me? I know you like him but listen to this he doesn't like you, you know why because your a whiny little drama queen," she spat, flipped her hair, "Now scooch," she said, I sat up, and slapped her across the face not very hard but enough to leave her shocked, "Oh I'm sorry did I smudge your hundred dollar Merle Norman or whatever shit brand concealer you use?" I said, "I will tell," she said, "Go ahead see if I care," I said laying back against Alec and closing my eyes I knew she wouldn't tell. I felt Alec laughing from beneath me, I chuckled to, "What?" I asked, "Nothing," he said smiling, then I passed out again.

☠Alec's POV☠
"Grade elevens listen up," Mr. Boston said on the intercom, I looked at Riley she looked so peaceful and beautiful, "We are about half an hour from the campsite, when we get there we are going to unload the tents we have are pretty big so, you will be having three to a tent, three girls or three guys," he says the last part sternly, there are a few boo's, "When we get there, there is a big open field of grass that's where we are staying, there are two beside each other one for girls one for guys, I'll show you who's is who's, after we set up lunch will be served," he says then turns off the intercom. I tap Riley on the shoulder, she rolls over so she's looking up at me, I smile and she smiles back at me before sitting up and stretching out. "Are we there yet?" She asked in a sexy morning voice, "In half an hour," I say, I love girls in the morning because they don't care what they look like their too tired, and it usually reminds me of the night before. "Excuse my un sexy morning voice," she says wrapping up her blanket and small pillow. "Oh wait what time is it?" She asks, pulling out her pills, I check my phone, "11:30," I say, "Okay, can you tell me when it's twelve?" She asks, I nod. Then pack up, we get there and it's a long drive up the trail with hiking trails everywhere, we go over a bridge then up a hill which reveals, a big wooden tent thing with tables which is meant for barbecuing, behind that there is more tables, and on the left of the tent, is washrooms, and on the right is change rooms, behind the gables there's a well used trails. You can just see mountains above the trees, "Wow," Riley gasps from beside me, she grabs her bag and I grab mine and we start to file out of the bus. She grabs a panda covered suitcase and starts following behind Mrs. Conway, who is taking all the girls to the girls campsite, I follow behind the guys who is being lead by Mr. Peters, there is a short little trail, to the campsites, and Mrs. Conway goes to the right and we walk to the right, we walk for a couple meters in the woods till we find a nicely mowed meadow, there's washrooms, on the left of the trail and change rooms on the right on of the trail. Joe, Dylan and I share a tent, and Kevin, Chase and Martin share one beside us, I grab the middle of it, set my stuff at the end of the bed, there are three twin air mattresses that we start to blow up. When we are finished we head back to the barbecue area and start helping set up. There is an area on the other side of the bus with a large fire pit.  Beside the washrooms there's a trail that leads to the lake and river, by the change room there's a trail to the water falls. The river must go behind the campsites, and up the hill to the falls. After getting a hot dog and eating it, there's a group heading to check out the lake.

The campsites are beautiful I followed Mrs Conway and Sarah, Jess and I got a tent to share I took the middle of the tent then went and followed a group down to the lake. It was so pretty the river was down a few metres, and the lake water was so blue behind the lake was mountains and it all looked so pretty. I walked closer to the water, I felt someone's hand push me forward then grab my arms as I screamed, "Saved your life," Alec said smirking when I span around, "You I'm going to get you back," I said pointing my finger at him, he smiled, I ran up to the wooden tent and grabbed a hot dog. I ate it then the teachers announced that students were aloud to do whatever we wanted whenever, as long as we were back for lunch and dinner no body is aloud out in the dark and you have to go with a group of three. With that Alec's group and us girls decided we would go hiking to the waterfalls but wouldn't go swimming, at least not today. We hiked for an hour and then finally made it to some really pretty falls, with a cave behind them. We headed back for a while ate dinner then stood around the fire for awhile, "Students curfew at 10, you can stay up in your tents till whatever time, you don't have to be up at a certain time, but breakfast is at, 9:30-11 lunch from 12 to 1 dinner from 6 till 8. Since it is 10 go now to your tents, and buddy system to the washrooms please," Mr Boston said. We all started to walk off to our tents I walked with the girls to the change rooms and changed into some sweats and a t shirt and went to the washroom before I went to the tent. Took off my makeup then passed out I am so tired. The next morning I woke up at ten, I dressed in jeans and a black V neck t shirt my usual outfit, I slipped my bike shoes on. Threw some concealer and mascara with a brow eyeliner on and tied my hair up, snuggled into my hoodie then headed out of the tent into the cold air. I could smell a camp fire from here and started to leave the girls campsite and to the tent breakfast was being served and kids were waiting around the fire. I grabbed some eggs, bacon, toast, and apple juice, Mr Boston walked over to me, "Riley you took your pills last night right?" He asked, "Yes I did," I said sitting down at a table, the 6 boys from the fire stood up and took a seat at the table with me. "Where's my sexy girlfriend?" Joe asked sitting across from me, "Sexy?" I asked, "You mean amazingly sexy.....she's still sleeping," I added, he chuckled, I took a bite of eggs, "So falls today?" Alec asked the rubbing his hands together, "Yeah it should be fun," I said, "We can tube down the river too," Alec said I nodded and finished as the boys talked around me. I was still waking up eventually I was awake and running back to grab my swimsuit, I grabbed my backpack and dumped everything on my bed, I grabbed a swimsuit my white and blue chevron one, a white towel, sunscreen, my phone, and a pair of shorts, I changed into my swimsuit with my jeans and v neck overtop, and a pair of black flats. Then walked out to the fire where Sarah and Jess were finishing breakfast, they already had their stuff, when they finished we set off for the waterfalls. After an hour of walking We finally got there, being the first set of students to get there we started to strip down. All the guys were in shorts and shirtless they looked so hot, all six of them with amazing abs, (although I wasn't looking at anyone but Alec). Dylan jumped in first claiming it was freezing cold, then Chase, Kevin Alec, Martin, Jess, Sarah, and Joe. I was last, I didn't want to go on it was so cold, although I was probably colder standing up here then down there in the water. I held my breath and dove in I worked for years to get a perfect dive and now I can finally do it. The cold water hit me and when I and up I was shivering, luckily I wore waterproof makeup so I wasn't to worried, all the guys started splashing the girls and we splashed them back, "Hey Riley I dare you to jump through the water fall," Joe said, "Sure easy," I said, I never backed out of a dare, I pulled myself up on the bank and pulled myself up. I walked to behind the water fall, it was coming down pretty hard, but I wasn't scared. I ran forward and jumped, right through the middle of the water fall well the middle of the width. Everyone clapped when I surfaced and we decided to float down the river since there were other kids coming in, when we came to the Rapids we got out and walked down further till it got calm again. Everyone was ahead of Alec and I, and without warning he grabbed my waist and pressed me against a tree, pressing his lips against mine. Zap! There was that tingle that spark, in the kiss we shared I wondered if he felt it to, our lips were moving in perfect sync. And before I could stop him his hands ran down my body, down my hips up my stomach, my hands explored his body to, up his perfectly clear six pack, down his back my fingers snuck into the waist band of his shorts and followed the top of it before my hands found their way to his neck and through his hair. He deepened the kiss his tongue slipping into my mouth examining every crevice, and everything. His fingers found the edge of my swimsuit and it stung as he slid his fingers along the bottom doing the same thing I did. When we broke apart our foreheads touched and we were breathing heavily from the kiss, our breaths hitting each other's face. I wondered if mine smelt bad, his smelt minty, his smell was so nice in general. It was now that I realized I liked him, the way he made me blush, and made me sting every time he touched me, the need to be around him not stopping to think about him. I like Alec, maybe that's why he blew off those girls maybe he likes me too. I doubt it though, I'm ugly and I have many scars, plus I haven't dated in forever I'm rusty. I wondered how my kiss was, was it good or just blah. "We should....probably get back," Alec said between breaths, "Probably," I said tracing his jaw with my finger, all the way to his chin then to his neck and down his chest. He pressed our lips together, then kissed down my jaw, and down my neck I moaned. Then I met our lips again, before I gently pushed him back, "Alec," I said liking the way it rolled off my tongue, "We should go," I said, "Yeah, but not to the others how about you say we go get our stuff and go for a hike?" He asked, looking me in the eye, I nodded and smiled, his hand found mine and we walked beside the river up to the falls I dried myself with  my towel, put the baggy shorts on, and out my v neck on again. Then chucked my back pack on and followed Alec down from the falls, we got back to the tent emptied out bags filled them with water, and apples, then walked towards the road and went to where a trail was, his hand found mine again. "Alec are we friends?" I asked he looked down at me, "As of right now I think we are more than friends," Alec said, "So then we're ........boyfriend and girlfriend?" I asked he looked forward, "Something like that," he said smiling, I blushed "so like friends with benefits?" I asked, "Maybe," Alec said, what did he mean maybe it was either yes or no. We hiked for awhile before we found a creek and a nice meadow to relax on, I laid out the blanket and sat down on it. Alec sat beside me, "You see my idea was being you all this way to tell it was supposed to be a date so that you couldn't reject me, then I was supposed to tell you something," Alec said bit inn into his Apple, he looked me in the eye, and I looked back confused I was blushing like crazy, "What were you supposed to tell me?" I asked him, "I don't know," he said, looking around the meadow, "How can you not know?" I asked giggling peeling an orange,
"What I meant to say was," he swallowed, "I don't know if I want to tell you yet,"
