Chapter 5

I just want to know you better, know you better, know you better now...

"Babe," I call from my bedroom, buttoning the top button of my black and white shirt. I adjust my collar and make sure my shirt is tucked.

"Yeah?" Jessica says from the bathroom.

"You ready?" I pull my black jacket on and choose my black wide brimmed fedora. I pull my crucifix out of my shirt and add my thick spiral Versace chain along with all my rings.

"Almost."

I hear a chorus of spray cans go off in the bathroom before the fan and the flicker of the light being turned. I take my wallet off my dresser and push it into my left back pocket.

"Ready." Jessica steps out of the bathroom in an almost floor length dress. The top is black with long sleeves, her shoulder peeking out on one arm. Cheetah print peeks through the black spreading down the both sleeves. The fabric skims along her curves, cheetah print areas throughout until the very bottom that is completely black. Her hair is pulled to one side her jet black waves shine adorned with a thin gold headband. My jaw drops.

"You...Jess you...you look..."

"Beautiful? Stunning? Gorgeous?" She questions smirking.

"Incredible." I say ushering her over. She beams at me her her teeth sparkling. "Well come on over, I wanna see you up close." She strides over to me slowly spinning as she walks. With her back to me she peeks over her shoulder as I slide my hands on to her waist. A smile crosses her face as I pull her waist to mine. I whisper against her skin and kiss her shoulder. "I love you."

"Love you too." She turns her face to mine and we share a kiss.

"Ready?" I say again, our faces still within inches of each other.

"Of course." Jessica replies.

"In the next one hundred feet turn right," the GPS says as Romano stops at the light.

"Almost there!" I squeal.

"Somebody's excited," Romano says turning the corner. As we drive towards the garage, a man dressed in a in a full suit comes toward the car. Romano raises his eyebrow at me before he turns to roll down his window.

"I can park your car for you," The man says offering his white-gloved hand.

"Thank you," Romano says. stepping out of the car before coming around to open the door for me. The valet drives Romano's car into the lot.

"Shall we?" Romano says offering me his arm. I smooth my hands over the fabric of my dress.

"We shall." I take his arm and we walk in to the restaurant. The room is filled with square tables covered with white cloths. Preset with candles at the center are two pairs of wine glasses. The chairs a covered in chocolate brown leather and gold tinted round studs. The other scenery is simple, paintings on the wall, wooden sculptures. Soft rock plays in the room.

The host walks up to Rome wearing an earpiece with a clipboard in hand. She smiles, greets us and promptly asks, "Do you have a reservation?"

"Yes," I reply.

"You're name?"

"It should be under De La Vega or Hernandez," Romano says.

"Here you are," she quickly writes something on her clipboard. "Follow me." Following her, we weave through a dozens tables before I spot Bruno and Jessica.
