"Baby, get up." I groaned and rolled over, hitting something hard along the way. I felt a pair of big, strong arms wrap around me and my groans instantly stopped.

"You need to get up or else we're going to be late." His breath ticked my ear as he spoke.

"Who cares if we're late? The only one who will probably notice is Channing." I whispered. At the sound of Channing's name, Shane tensed up and his grip around me tightened to the point where it could have hurt me. I chuckled at his action but the growl forming in the back of his throat made me stop.

"Don't talk about him." He growled, tightening his grip on me even more. It began to hurt so my hands instantly sat ontop of his. It lightened up a bit.

"I was just joking, Shane." I lifted my head up from his chest and stared at him. His face was tense and he looked straight ahead.

"Don't talk about him."  Shane repeated.

"I won't anymore, okay? I promise." I gave him a small smile to let him know that I was serious but i don't think that calmed him down. He stared at me with hard eyes, letting me know that talking about him was going to set off a ticking time bomb. Shane had always been a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode and leave it's mark in history. His anger, at times, was almost uncontrolable.

"Don't break that promise." He almost whispered but my K-9 ears were able to pick it up easily. I drapped my leg over his knees and gave him my innocent look. Glancing sideways at the clock, I had precisely five minutes before I had to be up and getting a move on. If not, then I was seriously going to be late for a second day of school and I didn't want to make that bad of an impression. Yesterday had been too much trouble as it is. Dealing with Channing-him being in my room and all-and not to mention the couple kisses shared between Shane's goregous lips and my own. It was like a new town changed my whole life completely and I wasn't even sure if I was fully ready for it yet. With Shane by my side and my whole pack ready to defend me, I probably could have gotten away with anything though.

"I don't ever break my promises to you, remember?" I whispered with an innocent grin on my face. I was raised right by both my parents. Breaking promises-no matter how small- wasn't exceptable. Especially when it came to being in a pack as strong as ours.

"You were never the one to break a promise, don't start that now." His eyes were looking at me but it was clear that his mind was a thousand miles away. I shook my head slightly at his comment-mainly because he knew better.

"Shane, where's your mind at?" I asked, breaking the subject to try and return him back to Earth.

       "Mars." He stated clearly.

"Come back down to Earth then. Someone's waiting for you."

His head tilted to the little with his comment. "And who would that be?"

"I was thinking that it was your newly founded girlfriend but maybe I was wrong. Maybe it was the girl that you've had feelings for but never gotten around to telling her until it was unbearable. Either one is more than okay." I chuckled a bit with my retort. A small smile spread on his lips.

"I like the sound of newly founded girlfriend." He whispered, rubbing his hand on the small of my back.

"Oh really? So what's her name, again? I think I forgot." I joked.

"Well, she's a really big tomboy but she pulls it off. She's beautiful but for some strange reason, she doesn't think she is even though she's got me and another idiot running after her. I believe her name was Tailia? Or maybe it was Taylor." He joked around with me.
