I turned around and Marshall was in the treehouse floating above me.

How long had he been there? I thought. How much did he hear?

"Is this one of those human things?" Marshall asked. "Talking to yourself in an empty room?"

I giggled. Clearly he was making a joke.

"No," I said embarrassed. "I'm just bummed that I don't have anyone to go on an adventure with."

"Well I'll go on an adventure with you," he said. "Where do you want to go?"

"I don't know," I said. "Usually Gumball gives missions to me and Cake. But she's been busy with Lord and he's been busy with work."

"Well I'll give you a mission," he said, "A Marshall mission."

"A Marshall mission," I asked laughing, "What is that supposed to be?"

"A Marshall mission," he said, "is where you don't help someone with a sissy task like Gumbutt would give you, such as delivering flower chains. But it would probably be something so challenging and dangerous, like having to face your greatest fear or something."

"As long as I don't have to stand here talking to myself anymore," I said jokingly. "Let's do it."
