Jade’s pov-

I found Laylah and asked, “Are you done?”

“Yeah.  Do you know where Mike is?  He still has trouble.  He’s only a month old.”

            “No.”

“What did you do to her?”

            “She’s fine.  I don’t think she’ll call me a loser again though.”

“A loser?  Where’d she come up with that?  You’re far from a loser.”

“I know.  Why do you think I got mad?”

            “How many did she make?”

            “Here or today?”

            “Today.”

            “She made eleven.”

“Eleven?!  Do you have a disorder, like a human with an eating disorder, or something?”

            “No.”

“Never mind.  I know what it is.  It’s your last days as half-and-half.  It’s normal.  You need more blood than usual.”

“Oh.  Let’s go find Mike before he does something he’ll regret.”

“Knowing Mike, he’d kill ten people before feeling the tiniest regret.”

            “That is bad.”

“No really, I would never have guessed that.”

            “Not now Laylah.”

I asked, Mike?  Where are you?  Have you killed anybody?

            “Laylah, he won’t answer me.”

            “Let me try.”

Joseph Michael Newly!  Get your butt back here, NOW!!!  Don’t make me come find you.  You know if I get mad I make angry grizzlies seem tame!

“Nothing.  Where can he be?  What’s wrong with you?”

“All that yelling.  It gave me a headache.”

“Oh sorry.  I forget how powerful I am.”

“Remind me to never get you mad.”

“Okay, let’s find Mike before he does something really stupid.”

            “Let’s do that.”

“We should try and track him.”

            “Track?”

“Yeah, you know, follow his scent.”

“I don’t know his scent.  I’ve never paid attention to what he smelled like.”

“Well…  There he took his shirt off.”

She ran out of sight and came back with his shirt.  She said, “Smell it.”

I smelled it and it smelled very familiar.  I said, “Hey, I know that smell.”
