CHAPTER 19

''Go away,Christopher!'' I yelled for the billionth time.

I was watching TV with Riley when I had suddenly heard loud knocks on the door.

Riley scrunched up her nose is distaste as she heard Christopher's name. She still hadn't gotten over his rude attitude towards her.

'' Let me explain!'' Christopher said on the other side of the door.

''I don't want to hear it!'' I yelled back and continued to watch TV with Riley.

To my surprise the unstoppable knocking well, stopped. I was almost dissapointed that Christopher gave up that easily. Riley yawned and shivered at the cold, New York was getting colder than ever these past few days and I was afraid Riley would get sick and we wouldn't be able to afford to go to the hospital.

I walked to my room, turning on the lights with the intention of getting Riley a blanket and gasped as I saw Christopher sitting on my bed, his hands resting  lazily on the bed frame.

He threw me a sexy, cocky smirk. ''Did you really think you could keep away a gangster out of your house by just sending me away?''

I rolled my eyes and glared at him. ''Get out,Christopher! I don't want to talk to you right now - or ever.''

His cocky smirk melted away into a frown.

"I didn't mean any of the things I said, Rose." He sighed. '' I can't let them realize that you're important to me. They'll use it against me."

I wanted to walk away but I didn't.

He realized this and continued. ''Just because I'm their leader right now doesn't mean that some of them don't want to overtake me. They could hurt you to get to me,and I couldn't live with myself if anything happened to you.'' His eyes grew sad and thoughtful.

''Is the gang more important than me?'' I asked quietly ,almost afraid of the answer.

It was quiet for a moment before Christopher spoke.

''I wish it were. It'd be alot easier but no Rose. You're the most important thing in my life right now. That's why I'd do anything to protect you."

I walked towards him and hugged him tightly. He responded, hugging me back and picking me up. He leaned in to kiss me but stopped, looking past me at my door with an annoyed look on his face. I followed his gaze and I saw Riley by the door mimicking Christopher's exact look of annoyance.

I laughed and Christopher let me go.

"What is he doing here?" Riley asked, glaring at Christopher.

"Be nice." I warned, picking her up. "Happy Birthday!"
