Chapter Seventeen-Discoveries.

I waited until my parents were long asleep until I made my move. I knew I had to be quick; something told me I just had to get this sorted.

I quickly booted up my slow, extremely outdated computer, tapping my foot impatiently. It wheezed and shook, sounding much like an aeroplane taking off. Eventually though, we had it up and running.

My fingers hovered over the keyboard as I opened up the search engine. Where did I begin? How the heck did I phrase the madness that had become my life?

Kayla jumped up onto my lap, and I grinned as she purred, rubbing against my face. I petted her absentmindedly, still wondering what to do. With one final look at her, I began to type, thinking about all that had happened in the past few weeks.

The first, obvious thing I typed in was Demon’s Lake. Now of course, that wasn’t the correct terminology for it, yet the lake was widely known as that throughout the town. Why? Nobody was quite sure. Perhaps it was because of the lives it had claimed; Tallulah and Hope had been so close together, that it scared the entire town.

Still, I came up with nothing. So next I moved onto the whole twin communication thing.

It was then that something occurred to me; Tallulah had been older than us, would have been a senior were she still alive. Rebeckah was just a sophomore. They weren’t twins, yet they could still communicate. This only made everything seem one heck more complicated.

Siblings communicating with one another even after death.

I frowned as I searched for the only thing I could come up with. And to my greatest surprise, after a lot of scrolling and coming across some very odd things, I found what I was looking for.

‘The death of a sibling: are they really gone?’

My heart beat sped up considerably as I began to read.

The death of a sibling is always a hard thing to have to face, at any age, but this is especially true for young children. Yet new research suggests that all is not lost. Are they really gone, or just floating behind a wall we cannot see? And indeed, is it possible to infiltrate that wall? We spoke to Susie Barker, leading paranormal psychologist, to find out.

‘There is great debate as to whether or not one can contact the dead. If you ask me, the answer is yes, but then I would say that. Paranormal psychology is something not many people know about, but it’s really quite simple. Investigating how the human’s mind works, while taking into account the life of paranormal.

There have been many incidents in the past, of visits from a loved one long after they have passed. This is frequent in children, and some may say this is a ‘normal’ reaction. However, some cases are not so straight forward. Some children claim to ‘hear’ their siblings; more common and often more vigorous in twins. Often, children such as these are hidden away, or taken to see a specialist. This then brings about the debate; counselling, or exorcisms? Which is correct? Is it a natural thing, after the trauma of losing a loved one? Or are the dead really amongst us, just waiting for their chance to peak back into the world they once knew?

This is a matter of opinions. I happen to think that yes, this is a very real matter that should be taken seriously. I urge anybody out there who may be worried a loved one is experiencing signs of this, or may be themselves, to step forward. There’s no need to stay in the shadows now; we no longer drown those possessed or touched by spirits like in the medieval days. Well...in my opinion the government are still secretly doing witch trials, but that’s another story.
