"Fucking shit," I hear Leo curse from downstairs as he enters the house. I sigh and finish folding an extra shirt for T before placing it in his small suitcase. I peek over to the bed where the little boy remained unmoved before moving downstairs to where my boyfriend was sitting on the couch with his head in his hands.

"Que te pasa, mi amor?" I ask moving to sit next to him

He takes a shaky breath before responding, "I'm not sure I can handle playing under him. He runs things completely wrong, Marisol! I can't keep playing with everything on my shoulders!"

I wrap my arms around his shoulders, "Leo, you don't have to keep everything on your shoulders."

He shakes his head and inhales sharply, "Ok, I'm fine," he says and kisses my forehead, "Now lets enjoy this mini-vacation."

I smile up at him, "I already packed the bags, so the only thing is the passports and getting everything in the car."

"Bueno. Mari, are you sure Cris and your mother are okay with me going?" He asks, getting up to check the safe for the passports. Gato hopped up on my lap; I don't get to see her often because she likes exploring the yard more than the house.

"I'm not sure if fine is the right word, but accepting, yes."

He rolls his eyes as at my choice of words and mutters a response, "I guess I'll see how they react eventually." Pulling the passports out, he closes and locks the safe before moving to place them on the kitchen island.

I hear Thiago start to call for us from his room, "I got it, can you take the bags to the car and I'll meet you there?"

"Of course, princess," he says and kisses the top of my head as we go our own separate ways.

As we landed in my hometown of Funchal, I couldn't help but feel tense knowing that evening I would have to face my entire family. It was still early since we traveled right after morning practice.

"Dios mio, stop worrying, my love," Leo says as we get into the rental car.

"I know my mother has been talking m-i-e-r-d-a about me," I tell him, spelling out the curse word not wanting to say it in front of Thiago.

"I'm sure she hasn't," he responds, but is interrupted by his phone ringing, "Dime," he answers.

"Fuck," he mumbles, "What do you want me to do?"

"Yea, sure, ok," Leo says and hangs up.

A few moments of silence pass before he tells me.

"The press are reporting that I skipped training today due to a fight with Enrique," he grumbles as he turns around and hands T his iPad with a show on for his son.

"And since you weren't there, they thought we both turned against him."

I roll my eyes as I pull down the road where one of the nicer hotels was located, "So have Barcelona release a statement that you took a private day, like you did."

"They did but the press are being parasites," he grumbles and closes his eyes. I shook my head and continued driving to the hotel.

We got to the hotel a few minutes later, where we settle down and lay Thiago down for a nap where I notice he's a bit warm.

"Maybe I should go get him a baby tylenol," I whisper to Leo worriedly.

"I can go," he responds quietly, and I gave him a look and responded, "Em Portugal?" pointing out the language barrier.
