"The End" - CHAPTER 19

1 year later....

"I can't do this,"  Kandi said, as she look at herself in the mirror.

"Gurl, bye." Keith responded as he fixed his hair. "You better put on your big girl panties and shake off them doubts."

"What if this is a mistake." she questioned, turning sideways to look at her butt in the mirror.

"Gurl, you love that man." Sweet chimed in as she took a sip of her champagne. "Its just your nerves talking."

Biting down on her bottom lip as she watched her self in the full length mirror, she couldn't help but admire her crystal encrusted Vera Wang wedding dress, her hair was laid perfectly around her shoulders in curls, and she decided to go for a very natural makeup look.

"You're right," Kandi agreed as she picked up her  bouquet, it was still unreal to her how she and Truth went from just best friends to now about to become husband and wife.

"I know." Sweet gloated, smiling.

Knocking at the door, drew Kandi attention away from Sweet.

"Who is it" Keith called out, as she walked towards the door.

"Valerie," she answered, through the door.

Brusting through the door once Keith opened it, Valerie couldn't help but squeal once she looked at Kandi. "You look amazing."

"Thank you." she smiled, running her hand over the dress.

Valerie started waving  her hand in face like a fan because she felt her eyes starting to swell up with tears. "I thank God that I'm alive to witness this."

"Don't cry, because if you do, I will also" Kandi told her, squeezing her eyes together as she tucked her lips inside her mouth.

"Oh, lawd." Keith uttered, shaking his head.

Kandi was so happy that she could witness this day also, they honestly didn't know if she was ever going to wake up from the coma.

Everyday they went to see her, talked to her about their day, and relationship. It wasn't until a few months passed that they got a call in the middle of the night informing them that she woken up. That night was the second time Kandi saw Truth cry.

"I always knew y'all was meant for each other, I just had to wait for y'all to realise it too and it took y'all long enough." Valerie scolded her, playfully.

"Ain't that the truth!" Keith added.

Grinning, Kandi unconsciously rubbed her hand over her stomach, she wanted so bad to tell them about the baby growing in her stomach, but she wanted Truth to be the first one to know.

A few rooms down the hall, Truth was calm and wanted to hurry things up. He was ready to see Kandi walk down the aisle and make her his wife.

Knocking on the door, before he opened it and stepped in, Cashmere asked, "Aye, man you good?"

"Yeah," he responded as he fixed tie.

"You ain't nerves or nothing right or having second thoughts?" he inquired, jokingly.

"Naw, I'm good. I knew what I was getting into when I asked her to marry me." he answered.

"A'ight, you the one having the same p*ssy every night for the rest of you life." Cashmere said, laughing as holding his hands up. "Oh, and someone ask me to give you this."

Truth watched as he pulled out a yellow flooded envelope from inside his suit pocket.

"Thanks," he said, frowning as he took it from his hands. "Where's Tyrone ass?"

"Somewhere probably trying to fuck on of Kandi bridesmaids." he responded.

Shaking his head as he laughed. "I'm surprised you ain't right there with him trying."

"Man." Cashmere drawled, stroking his chain hair. "You already know Brooklyn ass blocking. I don't know she wanna come anyway. She better not get no ideas cause I ain't marrying her ass."

"You foul man," Truth said, laughing. "She ain't good enough to marry, but good enough to have ya kids?"

"I love my kids don't get me wrong, but sometimes I wished their mother was a different person." he answered, honestly.

"Damn." Truth replied, shocked. He always thought his friend was happy in the situation that he was in.

"Fuck this shit about me tho," he said, wanting to change the subject. "Today's ya day. Hurry up and finish so we can get this shit rolling."

Truth shook his head as he watched his friend leave, slamming the door behind him, he looked down at the yellow envelope in his hands.

Scrunching his face together as he opened the envelope, pulling out a white piece of paper that just had 'thank you' written across it, he threw the paper to the side and started pulling out pictures that was inside.

Rubbing his hand over his mouth as he looked through the photos that contained the night he and Kandi ended Kendrick life, It look like who ever took the photos was outside the house looking through the windows.

"Fuck!" Truth roared, shoving everything back into the envelope.

"Baby, it's time for you to stand out there." Valerie brusted through the door, but stop once she saw Truth expression. "Is everything okay?"

"Yeah," he lied as he ran his hand across his waves. "Let's do this."

"Okay" she dragged out, not really believing him.

Truth was pissed someone was trying to fuck with him on his wedding day, but decided to put the pictures of the back burner for now as he placed the envelope inside his suit pocket and followed his mom out the room.

Feeling a tug on his pants leg, Truth looked down at his son Marques that he made his best man. Truth thought Ta'keysha was going to try and make him miss the wedding, but she came through.

Truth guessed the only reason that happened because he threaten to take her to court for full custody, and even though she knew there was a slim chance that the judge would rule in his favor, she honestly didn't have the money to get a decent lawyer, because she knew Truth would hire the best of the best lawyer to take her down.

"Daddy, where's Kandi?" he asked, rocking back and forth.

"Boy, be still." Truth whispered, as he placed a hand on his shoulder, stopping his movement. "She's coming soon."

The church doors opened and Truth watched as all her bridesmaids glided down the church aisle in bright lavender dresses. He could fell his hand's becoming clammy, he was hoping he could keep it together and didn't cry in front of the three hundred people that came to their wedding.

Smiling brightly as she started walking down the aisle once the last bridesmaids made it to the front of the church, Kandi wanted to look around at everyone, but her eyes wouldn't break connection with Truth.

The all white suit look amazing against his brown skin, he had gotten a low hair cut and had trimmed his bread that he was growing out. Kandi blushed as Truth winked her eyes and licked his lips, she honestly couldn't wait to spend forever not only with her soul mate, but her best friend also.

Truth couldn't take his eyes off her and couldn't help but thank god for bringing her into his life. All the time he's been asking for a woman for him and all along she's been right there in front of his face. He would do whatever to protect his wife and make sure nobody tries to fuck up their happily ever after.
