Hey readers, just a little note before you start: There's a bit of swearing in here at the end but not much. Just wanted to warn you first ^^

*********************************************************

Lissa, Christian and I stood by the side as we waited for Alberta and the other guardians to quietly carry out Ariana’s body.

“They’re getting suspicious.”

“Huh?” I turned around, facing Lissa.

“The students. They’re getting suspicious,” she repeated again, this time in a quieter voice.

I took a step towards her, turning around slowly and casually and realized what she was talking about. The students were all talking in whispers and glancing at the head table, then at us. I started glaring at each of them in my best guardian-stare, and they turned away from our direction quickly.

“What should we do?” I whispered.

“Talk to me.”

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Lissa turning towards Christian.

“What do you want me to say?” Christian asked.

“Just talk about anything. Act it out. They won’t be able to hear a thing, that’s for sure. We just need to act casual,” Lissa said, laughing softly.

Christian smiled. "Like this?" he asked, catching on quickly.

Lissa laughed again and nodded. "Yes."

"How long do we have to do this for?" Christian asked, looking slightly shocked.

Lissa shook her head. "At least until Guardian Petrov and the other guardians come back."

I couldn’t help but gape slightly at the both of them. It was like they were engaged in two conversations at once; one with their mouths and another with their body language. But the only reason I could tell was because I was literally standing right next to them. If you were standing further away from the two of them, like where the students were, you wouldn’t be able to tell a thing. The chemistry between the two of them were also radiating off at such a high level I couldn’t help but feel happy for Lissa. She’d finally found someone who she loved and loved her. Although Christian was sometimes an asshole, I knew he loved Lissa like she was the only thing on earth. He would never do anything to hurt her, and I trusted him for that. But, I’d still kick his ass if he ever hurt Lissa.

Five minutes later, Alberta and the other guardians who went with her came back.

“Lissa…” I put my hand lightly on her shoulder and motioned towards Alberta.

She nodded. “Come on Christian.”

I followed behind them as they made their way back to their seats. After they sat down, I walked over to Alberta who had returned to her position by the wall.

“Where did you move her?” I asked quietly, careful not to let others hear me.

“We placed her in the car that you and Guardian Belikov drove in.”

“Sorry, what did you say?” I managed to hide my surprised tone but my body language gave me away. I could handle killing Strigoi, and handle disposing of their bodies, but honestly? Driving with a dead person in the back of the car was plain disturbing, and just thinking about it gave me goose bumps. Silly, I know, but, still.

“Don’t worry. We only placed her in your car because it would possibly raise others’ suspicions if we placed her in someone else’s car. We wanted to keep this thing as quiet as we could. But there’s no need to worry; Guardian Belikov has already arranged another car for Queen Vasilisa.”
