Ch. 13 Next on the Agenda

The next morning at around, I'd say around six a.m. I went to the other

stall and took the liberty of letting Michael wake up Lee for some laughs.

I didn't tell him about the whole Lee-screaming-and-flipping-people-when-he-wakes-up deal though. It makes it funnier. So anyway, I pretended to be busy and asked Michael to go wake up Lee for me.

I barely suppressed my laughter when he tapped him on the shoulder and said, "Hey, dude wake up!"

After that things got funny, then painful, the funny again. Then I bet Michaels' butt hurt more than

he'd want to admit. So he tapped him on the shoulder and all that jazz i mentioned a second ago,

then Lee's eyes shot open and he grabbed Michael's hand and flung him into the wall and it crumbled

on top of him since it was all moldy and rotted. Lee jackknifed to his feet and grabbed Michael out

of the pile of rubble. This is where it got painful. He had Michael by the wrist and then let go and

spin kicked him into a post 5 feet away. the pole snapped in half and I think Lee was over his little

episode because he looked around in confusion until he saw me 20 feet away by the door.

"What happened?" he asked with a puzzled look on his face.

"You just beat the crap out of our new ally, and gave me quite a good laugh" I say with a laugh.

 "New ally? What?" he asks.

"Long story," I say, "but first we should make sure Michael is okay. Because that looked painful,

really painful. now go get the bag and our other stuff I'll get Michael."

 "Who?"

"Never mind go get the stuff so we can go!" I reply, he's kind of annoying with the one word answers.

                                    .                   .                     .

It turns out Michael was, more or less okay. he had a jammed finger on his left hand but nothing major.

the kick just knocked the wind out of him, it wasn't really strong enough to break or fracture any of his ribs.

But he is pretty sore.

"Why didn't you warn me about your friends panic attack?" He asked twenty minutes later

"Because it was hilarious!" I say

"But it really hurt me, your so mean!" he says sarcastically.

"Hey it hurt me too mister, you should have seen how hard I was laughing. You try laughing that hard

and not getting a stomach cramp!" I reply

"Oh whatever, lets just get this show on the road" he says.

"Okay. Lee! Come on let's get a move on!" I yell loudly.

"Just a second I gotta pee!" Lee yells back.

"Ugh, well hurry I want to get out of here!" We wait until he finally gets out then we start to leave

until Michael speaks up.

"Wait, I know a quicker way." he says.

 "What?" I ask confused.

"I know a quicker way, an underground passage beneath the barn by the ladder. It'll take us to the mountains

where the city is hidden. Then we only have about a five mile walk to the base of a larger mountain. From there we

look for the hidden cave that will take us to a cavern in the mountain where the city gates are. It isn't that hard

to get to if you know what you're doing."

"Oh, that sounds simple enough lets get a move on" says Lee turning around towards the ladder. He must still

partially asleep because he walked straight into a pole wiht a big oomph. He moves away from the pole and says,

"Ok, now lets go."

Inside the tunnel it was dark, and dusty. "How the heck are we supposed to see down here?" I asked.

"Oh sorry, hold on" said Michael. Then what happened next really shocked me. He lifted both arms straight out

in front of him and, get this, red-orange tendrils of flame curled around his hands glowing brightly like street lights

but so much brighter. He then stretched his arms out to the sides of him and we were instantly bathed in light, it was

almost like being back out in the sun. Just like in the movies with the fire running down the hallway at shoulder height.

"Um, what just happened and why are your hands on fire? asked Lee with an expression full of confusion, fear, and

anxiety. Michael cursed under his breath.

"Yeah, I might have forgot to mention something." he said. "Since about 100 years ago all of the

people of boulder bearing the mark," he pointed to back of his neck, "have been developing special abilities. super

powers if you will. The folks back home call them dementions. Mine happens to be control over fire. It's totally awsome,

you just have to be careful. You guys might get them when you get your 'tats."

"What kind of powers do people get like flying or invisibility, or what?" I ask getting a little worked up now.

We had started walking so i couldn't see the end of the tunnel either way now.

"Anything so far I guess, my friend Jakob can turn camoflauge himself to any background. You'll meet him later.

He is on patrol ouside the gates this week. if you ask me, his camoflauge ability is way better than invisibility. No

they are not the same thing. Oh, and the girl you and me where talking about last night, Bridgid, she can summon undead

soldiers. kind of a dark power, but she weilds it proudly. no ones been able to fly since the dementions were first developed.

But that dosen't mean it's impossible."

"Cool." I heard Lee whisper under his breath. Then he tripped on something.

"Lee, you're such a clutz. What did you trip on?" I ask, still laughing at him.

"I don't know" he says standing up now. "Ugh, what is that smell?" Then he shreiks like a 5 year old. Then I see why

and my laughter catches in my throat. On the ground, is a rotting corpse. Hair falling out, surrounded by flies, skin peeling

away and one of it's eyes lying on the floor next to it. It's creepy, but I remain silent.

"I swear that was not here-" Michael was interrupted by a horrible shreiking. Thats when they materialized right in

front of us, swords gleaming.

"Alright guys, battle up!" I say, unsheathing my sword.
