Chapter 25

Sophie's POV

Alex and I arrive outside of Starbucks.

"Sophie can we.. talk?" I heard Matt say behind me awkwardly.

"Oh sure I guess," I reply. "Alex Isabel and Luke are right there okay," I point to the table they were sitting at.

"So what Matt?" I ask.

"I.. whoever turned you down is a jerk okay?"

"He's one of my friends.. I don't think he's a jerk," I respond.

"And uhh.. I was lying. I was lying when I told you I didn't like you and that you were just the first person to come to mind because I really like you," he paused for a breath. "And if you don't like me back then I just hope we can still be friends because you really are an amazing person."

I smile internally. "Matt.. the guy who turned me down, well his name is Matt and he's talking to me right here telling me something I was waiting to hear for a long time," I giggle.

Everything goes by fast. It's a blur. All I notice is Matt moving in, and my lips moving on his. I never want it to end.

"We should really get in before they think we are dead," I giggle.

"I just have one last question."

"Yeah?" I ask concerned.

"Will you be my girlfriend?"

"No Matt I just kissed you for fun," I say sarcastically.

He picks my small body up over his head and runs around.

"Put me down," I whine like a little girl.

"Not until you say yes little lady," he responds sassily.

"Fine! I'll be your girlfriend if I have to," I respond laughing.

"You're a meanie!" He says like a little kid, but puts me down.

I get up on my tippy-toes to kiss him, "There! You happy now!"

"Very," he smiles.

When we get inside, I can feel everybody's eyes on us. 

"Are you guys a thing now?" Luke asks

"Maybe," Matt shrugs

"Ugh fuck off," I groan, when Isabel nudges me with her shoulder suggestively.

"Language!" She teases.
