So, I guess this is the post that you guys have all been waiting for. For two years I've been writing this diary and it's so weird to finally say that everything is over! I've made it to university (the one I wanted as well,) plus I haven't spoken to my mother in 4 months.
I suppose the sad thing is that she has ended up choosing my step dad over me, but at the end of the day I know where I stand and that's her decision. I tried to make our relationship work but sometimes you can't have your own way. Furthermore, I've heard from several people that she doesn't understand why I won't speak to her and have cut off all contact and I suppose that's the saddest part - she can't see that she's pushing everyone away, because of a man who takes advantage of her.
I've made loads of great friends at university who have no idea about my past which is brilliant and though I don't get along with a couple of my flat mates, I know I'm going to be extremely happy here.
I checked this account today and had over 1,000 notifications with people supporting what I have endured, and I can't even begin to explain how much that means to me.
My sister is still living with my mum and step dad, so I suppose the next step is the get her out of there too.
