"I wish I could've seen you when you were happy." he whispered into my hair. His words struck me like a lighting bolt. I wish I was happy. My happiness was taken away from me six years ago. I could feel the tears well up in my eyes. I wanted happiness. To feel like a teenager. To be free. That's what I wanted. To be free.

Meet Marci. She's an A student, dancing, blue eyed, blonde hair girl. She isn't very social. She has one friend. Kids at her school call her names and bully her. Why do they do this to a girl who hasn't done anything to them?

At home, her Mom and Dad are much worse. Her brother, who's in college, is the only one who understands her. The way they communicate is the only way Marci can "talk".

Through dancing she lets herself go. Some days she can't dance because of the pain her parent's have caused to her body. Through dancing she talks. But she never talks through her mouth. Through her body language is the only way Marci can speak... Why won't she speak through her mouth?

Because she's mute.

Silence is her loudest cry.
