Chapter 52: Forever You and Me

Allaine knows that Kerr doesn't feel any hunger or fatigue right now because what he only wants is to

see Elle. He gave Kerr a bottled young coconut juice and send him off with one of the caretakers

where she is.

Elle did not notice the man who was watching her from afar. She was finishing a painting that was

commissioned to the Governor's wife in Legazpi City. She needed to finish this and then start

another one for an auction in Tiwi. The church that the town folks are trying to rebuilt ran out of

funds. So she volunteered to donate her paintings for an auction to augment the costs for the

renovation. Painting has not only became her therapy but her profession as well since she decided

that Philippines will become her home now. Her Dad allowed her to use one of the empty stables as

her gallery after it was renovated in October. She still cries for Kerr sometimes at night when she's

alone and remembers what Don has told her about what he went through after their break up years

ago. " He is a good man and he really loved me. He could have offered himself again to me but he

didn't, in consideration of what he thought was my future wedding to his friend. Yes, its true that

after what has been said and done, only the best memories stay in your heart," she thought.

There were tears in the man's eyes as he realized that his time has finally came. The chance that has

evaded him for years is now here, right in front of him. His search is finally over. He watches her as

the wind blows her long hair and her red bandana that keeps her hair in place. Her long white,

sundress envelopes her lean slender body and her movements, perfect and graceful despite the

artificial leg. He wanted to run to her but he didn't want to ruin the beauty of this magical moment

that he waited and dreamed for so long.

Kerr went around the coconut trees behind Elle. There was a soft music in the background. He

remembered that this was the song when they first danced at Charlene's sweet sixteen party.

"Hummmmmm...hummmm ...

There are times when I just want to feel your embrace

In the cold of the night.'

I just can't believe that you are mine now...."

Hmmmm..."

Elle was painting when Kerr approached her from behind. He wrapped his arms around her shoulders

and kissed the back of her head which startled Elle. But the wind blew a familiar scent. She smelled a

perfume  from the past...this scent that she will never forget.. .her first love.
