Chapter 13 - Jacob

"Ok, you're coming in 10 minutes? ... Alright, that'd be great ... Thank you Jacob ... Bye, see you soon." And with that, the five minute conversation between Emily and Jacob ended.

Emily looked at me and smiled. "Great new, Jacob's coming in five minutes with the paints. You wanted Sky Blue, Lavender, Green, and White, right?" I nodded my head

"Yep."

"Good, now we can just hang out while he comes. So... what do ya wanna do while we wait...?" Emily asked. I thought for a moment.

"Well..." I began. "I think...we could..." I stopped and thought for a while.

"We could bake some cupcakes..." Emily offered.

"Um..." I started. Emily shook her head and grabbed my arm dragging me to the kitchen.

"No...C'mon it'll be fun..." she told me.

I sighed.

"Fine, but I'll have you know, I burn water!" She laughed. She thinks it funny now, just wait when I end up burning down the kitchen.  

"Nah, it's easy, I'll show you how..." She reassured.

 When we walked into the kitchen Emily immediately darted to the cabinets and began taking out ingredients, such as flour, baking powder, sugar, butter, eggs and other essentials. I watched as she set them on the table and got out a small cupcake pan thing.

"Alright, lets get started..." she said as she brought out a large bowl. I walked over to the table and picked up one of the bags of flour, until Emily stopped me. "-First! You must wash your hands, Macy..." Emily explained to me. "Oh, yeah, of course...I forgot..." I said and darted over to the sink and began washing my hands with soap. 

"Alright, let's start...with 2 cups of flour..." She told me, and I looked at the table for the flour, once I did, I poured the right amount into the large bowl, I looked at Emily for approval, she nodded. "good, now 3 tea spoons of sugar, and 2 sticks of butter..."

Once I dumped those things in, I began mixing them together, but then Emily claimed I was doing it wrong so she mixed it instead.

 "Alright, now 3 cracked eggs..." I picked up one egg and began to crack it, but it slipped from my fingers and fell on the floor.

"Oops..." I mumbled.

Emily just laughed. "Why don't I crack the eggs instead..." She suggested.

"Heh, yeah..." I said embarrassed.

Just then the bell rang. "Uh, I'll get that..." I told her and ran out to the front. Once I opened it, hoping it'd possibly be... Jacob... But I was disappointed to meet a muscular, tanned guy instead of Jacob. I looked up at him and frowned.

"Oh, hi..." I greeted.

The boy looked down at me and froze.

"Macy...?" He asked.

I froze almost instantly, who ever this guy was, he was the most handsome guy I've ever met in my life. I didn't know why but for a long moment we just stood there  and looked at each other, my heat, I swore, it had stopped. I had butterflies in my stomach that made me unable to speak; I forgot what to say next...

"Macy, who's at the door?"

That woke me up.

"Um... uh.." I didn't know who this person was, so what was I suppose to say? I didn't--I couldn't stop staring at him.

"Whoa, how'd you know my name? Who are you?" Ugh, was that all I could say?

"Mace, I know it's been a long time, but not that long..." He said
