Friday.  Homecoming day.

The Football team and cheerleaders showed up in uniform. The hallways were buzzing.  Nothing ever happens in this small town, so a school dance was something to be excited about.

Jess was among the most excited.  The only thing she loves more than a big party, is dressing up for one.

“So we’ll go home, get all our stuff and meet back at your place” she told Kayla as she practically jumped up and down.  Charlie smiled.

“Oh! And I got our calendar info. We’ll be taking the pics in November, the calendar will be sent out to the printers, and we will sell it before and after Winter Break, and our month is-“ Charlie didn’t hear her, as Jackson grabbed her arm and pushed her up against the locker.

He looked pretty hot in his uniform, but Charlie wouldn’t dare tell him that, he also looked really intimidating.

“You’re my date to the dance.  I’ll meet you there.” He said gruffly.  Charlie resisted an eye roll.

“It doesn’t work that way.” She said.

“I’ll meet you there.” He repeated.

“I didn’t’ ask you” she said, standing her ground, although it definitely wasn’t her toughest moment.

“Tell me the name of the loser you asked, and I’ll take care of it.” He had a smile on his face, but Charlie felt his muscles flex.  His possessiveness and control would probably be a turn on for many girls, but it irritated her to no end, not to mention, it scared the hell out of her.  His black eyes stared into hers, and she thought about the guy she had asked.  Her eyes shifted away from his, finding a great view of her shoes.  He smirked,

“Did he say no?” his smile growing,

“how many no’s did you get?” he was taunting her now.  She didn’t answer.

“Good.  You shouldn’t have bothered, they all know you’re mine.”

Charlie’s eyes stayed down “I’m not yours” she whispered, the fight had left her, what had he been spreading around?

“I can’t wait to see you in your dress” he said, his voice softening, as his minty breath touched across her face.  He reached his finger to her chin, tilting her head up to look at him.  Her body stiffened as his lips touched hers.  The same lips that had left an indescribable pain on her neck about 3 weeks ago.  The mark may have almost completely faded from her neck, but the memory of it was sure to never leave.

“That’s enough.” Kayla said, pushing Jackson’s arm, and pulling on Charlie’s.

“See you tonight babe.” He said to her.  Charlie visibly cringed hearing that stupid nickname again.  A smirk spread across Jackson’s face and he turned to walk away.

Jess’ eyes were bigger than Frisbees when Charlie turned back to her friends.

“I thought you said that didn’t work out” she said.

“It didn’t.”

“But you were just kissing!”

“it’s not what it looks like, I don’t’ want to talk about this right now.” Charlie said, the heat rising quickly to her cheeks.

Logan was leaning against his locker, while Ben was talking about a concert he wanted to go to next month.  He couldn’t help but notice Jackson, as he turned the corner, a satisfied smile on his face.  That’s not a look you want to see on Jackson Kole’s face.  He spotted Logan and a smug smile took over.  He came over,
