After last period I got a text from Josh telling me he would meet me by my locker, so naturally I waited for him.

When I saw him walking towards me I couldn't help but feel, nervous? I know I'm not an "ugly" girl or whatever, but Josh Mandel is so perfect, well when it comes to looks I should say. I just can't believe that I was asked to get something to eat after school by possibly the hottest 17 year old I've ever met... In person.

We walked out the school corridor and I decided that I'd drop my car off at home and he will follow and then we will both head over in Josh's car to the cafe.

After dropping off my car I was alone with Josh, sitting in the passanger seat. He plugged his iPhone into a chord hooked onto his stereo and handed me his phone, "Here, pick a song." "Ok" I smiled.

Holy shit he's letting me pick the music!

Holy shit shutup Amanda.

I noticed that we had the same music taste which was surprising since most of the stuff I like is underground Indie or classic rock. I eventually put on, "Big Jet Plane by Angus And Julia Stone."

His lips curled, and he looked at me "I love this song." he said softly, and my heart fluttered ...I didn't say anything back, and for the rest of the car ride it was silent but it was a comfortable silence and all that was heard was the sound of the music.

After about ten minutes we reached the small cafe, walking in, there was a 'homie' feeling to the place and I liked that, it was comfy.

We took a seat at a booth in the far corner and Josh ordered two ice mocha-lattes.. "Hey, how'd you know I like that?" I asked.

He smirked.."Well I'm very.. intuitive." "Shutup." I giggled.

I never giggle!

So Amanda how was your first day of school?" He asked in a deep authority figure monotone. I laughed, "Well Dad..." He scrunched his nose while shaking his head and bumped my leg with his.

"I'm kidding! Actually believe it or not if it wasn't for you it probably would have sucked...really bad."

"Well in that case...I'm honored." he said raising his chin up and putting his right hand across his chest.

Dork.

"So tell me about your self, I know nothing of you." I sat back and thought for a bit about what to say "Well...you already know it's my first day at Jericho..I have a mom a dad and older brother and younger sister. My birthday is on Halloween...I run track, I'm a sprinter. .I might tryout for Jericho's team..um, my favorite color is red, I play piano, and I'm Italian and Irish. The rest you'll have to find out gradually." I smirked at him... "Your turn." I chirped. He scratched his head "Hmm,lets see you already know my name, Joshua Mandel, I'm Irish and Greek..mostly Irish" he said with a wink.. "Hm both parents still married.. I have a younger sister and had a twin brother...I am currently captain of the soccer team at school..I'm also currently skipping practice but eh, one day won't hurt." He said with a warm smile. He was about to. speak again when his phone rang "Hello?....I'm out with a.. uh friend....What!?...I thought she was ok now....um...ok...I'll be there soon." He hung up and looked at me with sadness in his eyes.."I would never do this if I had the choice but it's a serious family issue and I need to get home..I'm sorry, I have to go." He said while standing up, I nodded with understanding. He then put down a twenty dollar bill for the waitress and turned to walk, he then turned back to my side of the table and grabbed my hand.. "I will text you later,ok?" He said trying to make sure I wasn't hurt..."I'm fine, its ok Josh.....I'll save you your coffee." I said with a smile. He then laughed and walked away "Please do!" He called out while Leaving the cafe, I couldn't help but laugh to myself. I wasn't upset or anything, shit happens.

I waited for the waitress to bring our lattes, I grabbed them and left the noney sitting for her on the table..I was walking through the cafe when I noticed someone familiar, I did a double take to make sure it was who I thought it was and while doing that he noticed and did a double take at me too.

"Well, Hello Miss. DeAngelo." He said with a smile "Fancy seeing you here, Mr. Downey." I said while standing from a fair distance.."What did you think teachers live in their classrooms?" He said with a chuckle, "Here take a seat", I walked over and sat across from him. I started to drink my latte as he just starred at me I paused while drinking "What?" I asked. "Why do you have two lattes?" he said while forming a smile "Oh, I was hear with someone but he had to go so I took his latte." I explained calmly. "Let me guess...Mr. Mandel?" He asked while raising an eyebrow. I probably made the most shocked face ever.."how do you know?" I asked. He chuckled "well I saw him rush out not to long ago and I see you here alone now with two lattes...if you put it together it's not difficult to figure out." He said rationally, "Oh well when you put it like that...yea it was Josh." He then looked back to the papers sprawled on the table infront of us he took a breath and quietly said "To bad ya scared him off huh." I kicked his shoe under the table and he laughed while I glared at him "He had to go home it was urgent." I said trying to justify my loneliness. "That's what they all say sweetie." He Chuckled I was about to kick him again until he stepped on my shoe preventing me from doing so, I yelped as he was crushing my foot "Jesus christ, big foot in the flesh!" .. "Excuse me?" he said while putting more pressure down on my foot, I lowered my hand across the table to his thigh and leaned in while slowly pronouncing "B i g F o o t." while pinching his thigh . Then he yelped and moved his feet away from mine "Getting handsy there,aren't we?" He said with a wink "Oh calm yourself, what are you a 13 year old?" I asked. "I can be." he stated while wiggling his eyebrows..I laughed. "I don't even wanna know what that's supposed to mean."

He winked again and went back to looking at his papers.."Why are you here anyways, stalking me?" I asked, he scuffed "It's called grading Amanda." He said while looking down at the paper, "Oh are we on a first name basis now...Robert?" I said with sarcasm. "Why not?" he said with a smirk. "Well..this has been pleasent and all but I've got homework to tend to, later Mr. Downey." I said while standing up.?"What happened to first name basis?" he said while pouting his lower lip, I smirked "Bye." "How are you getting home?" I turned back around "I think it's called walking?" I said with sarcasm..."Non-sense I'll drive you." He said with one swift movement of getting up closing his work book and shoving it in his leather man bag. He walked past me and I followed behind as we reached his car. "Uh, Is that a purse?" I asked while opening the car door while trying to stiffle back a laugh. "No." He said with an eye roll.

After pulling out of the cafe we drove for a bit in silence..."Soo what's your address?" .. "Uh, 3204 Grant." .."Oh, I live about 4 blocks from you." After another period of silence he asked "So, are you and Josh dating? Cus if you are...then he's a shitty boyfriend for not even leaving you cab money." I rolled my eyes "No! I just met him today at lunch, and I told you it was a family emergency." "I'm just sayin'!" he said while raising his hand in defense. "To be honest

I had the impression that you were an uptight, quiet, Straight A student, when you came to my class. But your actually opposite." I scoffed, "Way to judge me..escpecially on my first day!" He looked over and gave me a warm smile "Sorry" he said..We were now pulling into my driveway, I pulled the door handle and before opening the door said "You're lucky I'm a forgiving person, Thanks..Robert." And with that I closed his car door and walked up the stairs and into my house, by the time I got into he was already gone..I threw my book bag on the couch and plopped myself next to it...'ah what a long day'.
