Chapter 30

I have faith in him. I was so sure about that. Not even Adrian could shake that.

Mahigpit ang kapit ko sa wallet at cellphone ko at naglakad palabas ng coffee shop. It's already five in the afternoon. Baka andyan na si Thunder, kaya bumalik ako sa building. I asked the guard kung nakita niyang dumating na si Thunder at halos kumalabog ng malakas ang dibdib ko nang malaman na dumating na nga siya.

I immediately went to the floor where I could find his unit. I pushed the doorbell button a couple of times. Hindi niya iyon agad binubuksan, kaya nanatili akong nakatayo sa labas. Maya-maya lang ay bumukas na ang pinto at bumungad sa akin si Thunder na bagong ligo, at nakatapis lamang ng tuwalya sa ibabang bahagi ng katawan niya.

Water is dripping down from his head to his neck and to his body. Pakiramdam ko'y bigla akong naubusan ng hangin sa baga dahil sa nakita. I almost forgot my purpose as to why I'm here.

"Hey, you didn't tell me you're coming." Kumunot ang noo niya ngunit niluwagan din naman niya ang pinto para makapasok ako. I gulped as I forced myself to walk inside, at nang dumaan ako sa gilid niya ay naamoy ko ang amoy vanilla niyang shower gel.

"A-ah, I don't know your number. Nakalimutan ko hingin kaya hindi kita nasabihan." Valid naman sigurong reason 'yon.

His unit was clean and organized. Very typical of him. He always wants things properly cleaned and in the proper places. Ayaw na ayaw niya ng magulong gamit, may makita lang 'yang tabingi o hindi maayos na nakalagay aayusin niya.

"You want something to drink?" nilingon ko siya at umiling.

"Hindi na, kakainom ko lang ng coffee." tumango naman siya.

"Bihis lang ako, suit yourself here." hinayaan ko naman siya at naupo muna sa couch.

I watched him walk inside his room as I settled myself there. When he was finally inside, I roamed my eyes around his unit, entertaining myself until I remembered what Adrian told me. I tried to ignore that because, like I said, I believe in Thunder that he can't do that. Maybe Adrian is just slandering him to me, just to get his revenge because Thunder was hunting him.

Unconsciously, I found myself standing up from his couch and walking towards his room. I slowly and carefully walked towards it until I touched the doorknob. Nalaman kong hindi iyon naka-lock dahil mabilis ko iyong nabuksan. The moment I opened the door and peered inside, I was welcomed by Thunder's masculine scent mixed with vanilla. He wasn't there, so I went in. I think he's inside his walk-in closet. I looked around his room again when I noticed his phone on the side table. Next to that was an envelope. Looking at that made my heart pound loudly. There's an urge with me that I want to look at what's inside that, but I am unable to do so since I can hear Thunder's footsteps.

Mabilis akong lumabas sa kaniyang kwarto at bumalik sa pagkakaupo sa couch. Sakto naman na nakaupo na ako ng bumukas ang pinto ng kwarto niya. He walked out of his room, glancing at me with a towel snaked around his shoulders as he walked toward me.

"So, why are you here? Did you miss me?" casual niyang tanong habang papaupo sa tabi ko, taking his towel to dry his hair. Pinanood ko siyang gawin iyon hanggang sa wala sa sariling inabot ko ang towel mula sa kamay niya, at huli na para pigilan ko ang sarili. He looked at me because of that, asking and waiting.

I sighed. Ano ba kasing gusto kong gawin?

Hindi ako makapaniwala na parang may sariling utak ang katawan ko. Sumampa ako sa couch at umusog palapit sa kaniya bago sinimulang tuyuin ang buhok niya, and he just let me. The place was filled with silence, halos makalimutan ko na ang naging tanong niya at ang ipinunta ko rito.
