Lucky for you guys, I'm currently planning another short (Probably 3-5 parts) Conan story. It's got romance but definitely not slow burn. Don't rush me. It'll happen eventually. It's based on the Lonely Dancers & NES MVs.

Also, one of the names in this chapter, Inés, is named after my Pookie, https://www.instagram.com/cone__fanpage2022/reels/

Oh- and I've started writing a novel. My crush is my beta reader and is actively giving suggestions and talking about ideas for it with me constantly 🥵for those of you who don't understand- this is literally an aspiring author's dream. This guy is literally all of my 'author x guy' fantasies.

Conan's fingers are between mine, his thumb lightly stroking over the back of my hand. My blood rushes with anxiety that beats loudly in my ear. People around us chatter, most in the wrong age group to know us. Some of the younger ones here do, though, pulling out their phones and snapping pictures. Many clearly aren't major fans, probably just knowing Conan from TikTok or advertising, so they don't approach us.

"You okay?" he whispers in my ear, his hand dropping mine to slide protectively around my waist, "We don't have to be here if you don't want to if it's too much?"

I shake my head, mouth too dry with nerves to speak. Opening my mouth would be pointless, anyway, the words too weak and shaky. He gets the point though, talking to the neatly dressed waitress who nods and leads us to a nice table on the edge of the restaurant.

"We'll have two glasses of your house wine, thank you," he tells the woman as he slides into his seat, who nods politely and dashes off. "I figured we could use it," he grins at me, "It may be treat-night, but we don't entirely get the night off."

"I know, it's alright," I tell him, following suit and sitting across from him, grabbing the hard-cover menu before it can topple. I get distracted, tracing my forefinger over the swirling gold letters against the navy cover. If this is the effort that they've put into their menus, something tells me the desserts will be just as good.

"I'm serious, though. I was hoping for the night just with you and me," he purses his lips, "but then again, I suppose it's not bad taking you out to a fancy restaurant! We'll have time when we get home. And we can't always stay in the apartment."

I lean across the table, using my palms on the table to keep myself up and press a kiss to the corner of his mouth.

"I'm grateful for any time I get to spend with you," I reassure him, sinking back into my seat, but taking his hand as I lean back and bringing it to my face. He takes the hint, his palm pressing against the side of my chin, fingers resting along my jawline, "You could take me to an electrical appliance store and we'd still have fun!"

The waitress brings us two glasses and a bottle of pinot noir. She pops the bottle and pours us both a glass, before quietly thanking us and striding away. I take a sip, and Conan follows, grimacing, but then nodding.

"Does that face mean it's good, or is it bad?" I chuckle, and he smiles softly.

"At first, the former, but I think I like it. Might have to try it a gain to make sure," he winks at me, taking another sip and groaning a little, "Okay it's definitely good-" he tells me, panting quietly from forgetting to take a breath, "But that's my opinion. What do you think of it?"

"Good as far as pinot noir goes. I don't really know. Have you had a look at the menu yet?"

"I know from last time we were here- I really wanted the Pâtes Cuites Au Fromage but I ended up getting the ratatouille, remember? Then again... I really want the Pain à La Tomate! Dang, this place makes ordering hard!" he rolls his eyes, squeezing my hand with excitement before returning to look at me adoringly.
