He got lost. It must have been the autumn when he was 14. It was a family gathering, his grandfather also came. They rode horses in the thick forests of the south and in the open fields.

Meanwhile, Kyle, who had just started riding the horse, disappeared from sight. To find his brother, Karlyle rode in the direction Kyle went. The forest looked warm from the outside, but after coming in, it became a completely different place. Trees followed trees, everywhere looked the same, and the shadows were cold. Soon it started to rain, and Karlyle got lost.

Not only aristocrats, but also children of wealthy families receive education in preparation for various things. From a young age, Karlyle had learned tips on what to do when being kidnapped or threatened and other ways to deal with threats. He also learned from early on how to satisfy the Omega partner, and how to hunt and find traces of beasts.

But Karlyle had never been taught what to do when being left alone. He didn't know how to not feel fear when getting lost in a forest like this. In the rain, Karlyle silently tried to remember the way back. He went deep into the woods to find Kyle, but he couldn't hear any sounds.

Before the sky completely darkened, Karlyle managed to use his memory to escape the forest, following the trail of horseshoes and the shape of trees. Had it rained a little harder, he would have been in distress.

When he returned, Kyle had already returned to his mother on his own. At that time, Kyle was quiet but he smiled a lot. Looking at Karlyle soaked by the rain, Kyle asked if he was okay. No one knew Karlyle got lost.

Although the fear and loneliness that had been churning inside him still lingered in his mind, Karlyle didn't show any of it. If his grandfather found out, he would definitely scold him. Then his mother and father would have to admit that they were lacking and had to apologize on Karlyle's behalf.

No child wants to see their parents being humiliated. Karlyle chose silence. The boy rubbed his wet hair, then reached out towards his little brother. He gently patted his brother's dry hair and said that he was glad that he came back.

His hand was wet, so a few seconds later, Karlyle immediately took his hand off. He didn't want his brother to catch a cold. Karlyle then went back to his room and washed himself.

That night, Karlyle caught a cold. To avoid spreading the cold to his brother, Karlyle stayed alone in his room throughout the trip. Mary (Karlyle's housekeeper, appeared in the webtoon once) said that his parents visited him every night, but Karlyle didn't see them so he didn't have any feelings.

Although he didn't get lost, Karlyle felt a loneliness similar to what he felt when being alone in the woods. His heart hurt more than his body.

Emotions are such harmful things. Looking at the horses outside the window running through the fields when the sun had risen, Karlyle thought that he never wanted to feel this way again. From that day onwards, the smile on the boy's face gradually disappeared.

After announcing the engagement, Karlyle barely sleeps and starts the work. The mansion is cleaned up, and the work schedule is extended. He tries to keep eating and exercising regularly so that there won't be any problems that may put strains on his body and cause trouble for his work.

Exercise is okay, but eating is a problem. There are times when his stomach hurts too much to handle, even swallowing water leads to a reflux. The taste of the stomach's sour acid has become similar. By far, this is the first time things like this have happened.

Luther says it is stress gastritis and advises him to rest. He adds that if he leaves as it is, it will become a severe chronic condition. At the advice, Karlyle laughed lowly. If he stays in one place, he might go crazy. In such a state like this, there is no way he can rest without doing anything.
