"Mom, slow down. I don't understand anything you're saying," I tell her over the phone.

"Steven, he's here, outside banging on the door. Your dad is at work. What do I do?" She asks frantically.

"It's okay, I'm on my way. Just make sure everything is locked. If he gets in be ready to run."

I hang up with her and grab my keys. Archer is watching a movie, so I tell him to tell Cece I had to go home when she wakes up. I drive, way over the speed limit, to my house. I can see him when I pull outside. He's yelling, but he's not swaying or appearing drunk. So, why is he here? He turns to me as I jog up to the porch and smiles evilly.

"I was wondering when you were going to show up, it was only a matter of time really," he spits.

"What do you want?" I grit out.

"Don't get an attitude with me," he warns.

"You don't get to tell me what to do, you lost that right years ago," I inform him. "Now, get off my property before I call the cops."

"That's a petty threat boy," he laughs in my face.

"I don't care if you go to jail, because you will, you're in violation of your restraining order. You are a lowlife bastard who needs to stay out of my family's life. So, no, its not a petty threat. Please, stay here so I can guarantee you'll definitely be out of our life for a little while."

"You're going to regret your words, that is a guarantee," he promises.

"If you don't get off my fucking property in the next 5 seconds, I'm calling the cops," I warn.

"This isn't the last time you'll see me. I've promised this before and I always keep my promises. You will regret everything," he says as he walks off my lawn and down the sidewalk.

I watch him until I can no longer see him and then unlock the door. I find my mom hiding around the corner in the kitchen, in tears, and it breaks my heart. I wrap my arms around her and stay like that until she is calm.

"He's gone right?" She asks as she pulls away.

"I made sure of it."

*Present*

"We should watch a movie, it's been a long day," Nate argues.

"I wanna play COD," Blake retorts.

Meanwhile, Emmet is sifting through the movie stack, already deciding we're watching a movie. Leo and Archer are relaxing on the couch, commenting every once in awhile. I glare at the arguing boys, wishing Cece would hurry up. We suddenly hear something that makes everyone go quiet.

"Did everyone hear that?" Emmet asks.

"Yea, but who was that?" Archer asks.

"That wasn't Cece right?" I ask nervously.

"I'm sure it's just some kids," Nate says.

There's a tense silence as we look at each other. "It couldn't hurt to check on her," Blake finally suggests.

Emmet is the first one down the hall and out the door. I'm right behind him with the guys. None of us see her and start yelling her name. Nate goes inside to see if she might be in there while the rest of us search outside. I start panicking when we get no results.
