TODAY IS ROSE'S BIRTHDAY. She is officially four years old. Scarlett called me in tears last night after putting a very excited Rose to bed. She went on and on about how her baby was growing up too fast. It was kind of hard to console her from a distance, but I made it. I stayed with her and we talked... We made plans for today and arrangements for tomorrow. She got sleepy after a little while talking, so I stayed with her on the phone until she fell asleep. I watched as her eyes slowly closed and waited to be sure she was fully asleep before ending the call.

This morning was busy, I had to pack everything I needed to do in a short time frame so Rose and Scarlett could come hang out after school. That meant interviewing two candidates for the job. Don't get me wrong, I love that I'm able to hire more help now, but this is so tiring. I also have to deal with our orders, so it's just the paperwork for me today.

I get to work early, taking care of the flowers and the inventory before opening. With no one around, and no distraction, I get it done fairly quickly.

I spend the rest of my time in the office, cleaning everything up so everything is nice and ready. I look around, and decide to put down some pictures that I have. Especially the ones with Scarlett and Rose in them... I guess the articles affected me more than I thought, making me a little paranoid.

10 struck around, and after 30 minutes of being open, I have the first interview. They go by fast, and I'm quickly done. Both of them are college students looking to work on the side... it's pretty usual, I don't mind. That's what I did before dropping off, that's what Leah did when she decided to take a gap year and then another one.

I help out until midday, and just wait for Scarlett and Rose to get there. I don't have to wait too long however, as the door slams open and I hear the bell ring. I spot Scarlett, holding Rose's hand who is trying to get away from her. Scarlett eventually lets Rose go, and she jumps into my arms. I hug her tight and don't let go. "Happy Birthday Rosie! Because it's your birthday, I was thinking you could pick out a few flowers."

I place her down on her own two feet, but she doesn't move. "Really?"

"Yep! Go ahead." I pat her butt, and she disappears into the aisles. Scarlett and I watch as she looks around, and reaches to touch the petals. She stops herself right before though. "Just don't touch the roses okay? I don't want you to get hurt!" I add.

I turn to Scarlett and open my arms for her. She immediately melts in me. "Are you okay?"

"I'm a mess." She confesses. "Rose has so much energy and I can't keep up. I mean, look at her." She points at her and I lift my head a little bit. I watch Rose with a handful of flowers but still reaching for more.

"Do you want some help Rosie?" I ask. I don't know I could hold them for her while she picks out some more. But she assures us that she's fine.

Just as I am about to speak and tell Scarlett that she can relax a little bit, the door opens. I detach myself from Scarlett, preparing myself to greet whoever entered the shop. It is one of the boys I interviewed earlier. "Oh I'm sorry–" He starts as he watches us shuffle awkwardly.

"It's okay. Do you need anything?"

It takes him a second to realize who's in the room with him. Now I understand how Scarlett could tell I recognized her when we first met. Something in his eyes changed. "You're Scarlett Johansson. Does that mean you're the woman from the pictures?" He points out.

Scarlett, uncomfortable, leaves to join Rose and keep her out of sight. He follows her with his eyes, and I have to snap my fingers in front of his face to get his attention. "Do you need anything?!" I repeat. I want this done as soon as possible, he is slowly getting on my nerves, constantly glancing between Ingrid and me.
