I handed you my heart
You matched it in seconds.
Only to come back to ask
For my soul too.
We were doomed
From the start
Because you wanted
More than I could give
And you didn't care
About my well-being.
I handed you my soul
You ripped it in minutes.
Only to run back to ask
For my body too.
Our end was near
When you left me in
The burning house
Expecting me to save
The remainings of love that
You didn't care about.
I handed you my body
You ravished it in hours.
Only to rush back to ask
For my life too.
. . .

A/N: Hi, friends! The new year hasn't started very well for me but I'm hopeful. I have a whole year to change up my routine, try new things, fall more in love with myself and meet new, interesting people that inspire me. I hope the same for you and that you didn't let the negativity hold you back. This poem came from personal experience, but I think most of us have it. The important part is to move on and put yourself first. The real love story is with yourself as it's the one that needs to last for eternity. Keep that in mind with your next relationship.
With love,
M.
