"Sorry I'm late Sayd. Had an appointment and it took god knows how long to get back here". Ellie sits down across from me. We're at a small cafe not far from where Matt is being treated, I left him just a little while ago as mum and dad came plus I needed to get some air. Looking at all the cancer patients there and knowing your family member is among them takes a huge toll on your mental state. I suppose I better tell her that too.

"Listen El, I really wish I never had to tell you this again but Mattie's cancer, it's back." I say as tears brim into my eyes. Why can't cancer just leave Matt alone, leave everyone alone. She clasps her hand in mine a rubs it gently. She's been through this with me before, she'd come to family dinners every Sunday at 4pm sharp. She'd come to the hospital to see Mattie with my family. And due to her being a med school student and Mattie having the same interest, she always had little lessons planned for him.

"We'll get through this together Sayd. Mattie will get through this, if he did it before he can do it again." She exclaims giving me a big smile and a nod. I'd rather not talk about this anymore so I get up and go order our usuals. We always went to this cafe and got the same thing. "Two Oreo pancakes please." The cashier nods and takes my order as I give him the money. Whilst waiting I turn around to see Ellie staring back a big smile on her face, the exact same smile she had when we found out Mattie had got rid of the cancer.

                                    ~~~~~~~~~~~
An hour passes and I've only just finished my pancake. It's so filling but I'd never have it any other way.El managed to finish hers in about a minute. This is very much not like her, she's a slower eater than me. She's seemed terribly off since she walked in. Always says how hungry she is, talking about all the appointments she has to go to soon. I've had enough.
"Cut the shit Ellie." I place my fork down on my plate and she stares at me, seeming to have a guilty look on her face. Gotcha.
"W-what?"
"Don't what me. What have you done? Don't tell me your up the duff." I say jokingly. But silence is filled, she didn't reply just sat there staring at me, playing with her hair. "Fuck you are ain't ya."
"Y-y-yes." She stutters. I assume she didn't want me to find out this way, or find out at all. But I practically leap out of the booth and come to her side, bundling her in a big hug. "Oi Sayd stop, it's not good for her." HER.
"OH MY FUCKING GOD ARE YOU HAVING A GIRL ELLIE DWIGHT!!!"
