"You can't be serious, Mom" Anushka stomped her foot.

"Oh, I definitely am" Her mother said still cooking with her full focus.

"Mumma, how can you do this?" Anushka whined.

"Don't act as if I didn't tell you, Anu." Her mom replied back.

"You did but I never agreed" Anushka stated.

"It's just a dinner, Beta. What's the big deal?" Her mum asked.

"Mom, The people you've invited are the big deal."

"No, they aren't. They are lovely people. Wait till you meet and absolutely love them" She said with her eyes glowing.

"I told you I'm not ready for marriage then why all this?" Anushka again repeated the same sentence she has been saying for the last 7 days.

"I just want you to meet the boy. It's not like I'll get you married forcefully. Final decision will be yours only" She said cupping her daughter's face.

Resisting those puppy eyes and cute face of her mother was never Anushka's cup of tea. She gave in finally.

"Okay but for me it will be just a casual dinner. Don't expect anything extraa from me." Anushka concluded.

"Don't worry I won't ask you to bring tea and snacks for them and behave all shy. I know you are the thinking that I'm going all traditional with this arrange marriage but I know where to draw the line, Anu. I am just trying to socialise you with people out of this movie world because I want you to have a life beyond movies." Her mother poured her heart out.

"You just have to be yourself. That's it" Anushka smiled widely on her mother's words.

"Now, taste this. Is it good?" Her mum asked giving some curry to Anushka to taste.

Anushka tasted and gave expressions like MasterChef judges while her mom stood there looking nervous as hell.

"It's super delicious. You're a Chef, Ma..." She kissed her mother's cheek and hugged her.

"Maa, Let's go back. I feel like I'm having fever" Virat said to her mom who was sitting on the passenger seat of the car.

"Virat, Tu 5 baar apna temperature check kr chuka hai jbse dinner ke baare m btaya hain. Kuch nhi hua hai tujhe. Bahane banana band kr" His mum stated facts.

"Please rhne dete hai na, maa..." Virat requested like a 3 year old requesting not to send him to school

"Viraatttt" A hard glare and stern voice from his mother was all Virat needed to shut up.

Both of them descended from the car and moved inside the tall building. Getting inside the elevator and pressing the button, they waited for it to reach the desired floor. Virat was anxious as hell.

Afterall, it's not daily he accompanies his mother over dinners for bride hunting. Though, Virat was sure he should get habitual because her mother was in no mood to stop before she actually finds a girl for him.

He had no idea where his mother was taking him. He was just following her like a lost puppy.

After some minutes, both of them stood in front of an apartment whose name plate said 'The Sharma's'.

"Maa.." Before Virat could've again mentioned about his 'imaginary' fever, his mom rang the doorbell. Virat pouted while she gave a winning smirk to him.
