Seawing egg of deepest blue

Tsunami wasn't sure how she felt about the strange white dragons, she knew that they were a potential ally, and the fact that they existed dashed her initial fears of trying to get the tiny dragons of the caves to go to war.

If she could get these Ice dragons to cooperate then she would come home feeling fulfilled even if the cavewing thing didn't work out. Besides, it wasn't like they could even find the blasted caves.

Tsunami would be even more happy if both tribes agreed to help out, but even getting one would be a huge boost in the resistance. She was prepared to resort to violence if it came to that.

They arrived at the northern coast, and it was probably the first time in her entire life that Tsunami did not want to leap straight into the ocean. She was used to it being moderately cold, but she wasn't going to dive into a place like that when it was practically a death sentence.

They flew toward a distant island that quickly became far less distant. An island that Tsunami could already tell would be filled with dragons such as the three that escorted them. It was comfortingly familiar to see an island approaching steadily.

When Tsunami saw the palace, it was surprising that she hadn't thought of it earlier. It sparkled in the sunlight and evidently was made mostly of ice. Slowly, more details reached Tsunami's eyes.

It had towers and buildings of almost countless numbers, similar to the deep palace that Tsunami had observed from afar. The dragons around it flew, going about their business, the sun reflecting in the same way that the palace did.

When they landed near the palace, everyone else was too busy gawking at the sparkles to care about the guards that ushered them inside. Tsunami glared at them, but they weren't forcing everyone to comply, so she suspected they were only there to make sure the group of strange dragons didn't do anything strange.

Ha. Strange.

Tsunami wasn't overly worried about them. She'd explained to Flow in detail how to proceed if Tsunami never returned, and she trusted that she would get that done at the very least.

The group entered a large chamber that Tsunami could immediately tell was the throne room, mostly because if Tsunami had a throne room, she would like it to look like this one. Probably with less ice though.

The dragon in the throne was probably around nine or ten years old. It was hard to tell though since Tsunami was still so new to these icy dragons. The dragon had a queenly air to her, with a crown of jewels and a cold calculating gaze as she observed the seven dragons in front of her.

The dragon that Tsunami had tackled explained the situation, "these seven dragons were found on the mainland, to the south. They claim to be from distant lands, searching for allies." She nodded to the Queen and backed up to watch the proceedings.

The Queen examined them each in turn, equally curious about each dragon, less so on Cactus and Sunny. She eventually spoke, "who is your leader?"

Tsunami stepped forward and produced her practiced bow, not entirely wanting to pay her respects, but recognizing the Queen as leader of this domain. "I am Tsunami, the only surviving princess of the seawings. We come to you of the north to seek aid. The Nightwings are trying their best to take over the world, and it is in your best interest to help us stop them."

"I am Queen Aurora of the Icewings." The Queen looked thoughtful. "I see that you are certainly not Icewings. I was not aware of the existence of dragons outside my domain. We have stories, but those warn against checking."

Tsunami nodded, "we weren't sure that we would find you either, we actually came here searching for the Cavewings." She glanced at Uhar, "so far, we've had no luck in finding them even with a willing guide."

The Queen of the ice dragons blinked, the first emotion Tsunami had seen on her face. "These Cavewings... they live in my domain?"

Tsunami nodded and poked Echo in the side, "I'm not sure how far your domain spreads, but he hiked through a blizzard to get to us and we can't find where he was before that."

Aurora nodded slowly, "I will send my best dragons with you to scout out these caves. Aftern that we will see about this alliance that you propose."

Tsunami relaxed, "thank you, Queen Aurora."

She tapped her chin thoughtfully, "Radiance. You go with them. I am appointing you head of our dragons on this mission. Take Drift and Storm with you... and..." she glanced off to the side, "take Frost. Just keep him out of trouble if you can."

The dragon that Tsunami had tackled stood up straighter, "yes, my Queen. I will gather them right away."

"Dismissed," Aurora said, making a shooing motion with her talons. "Not you though, princess, I would like more details."

Tsunami blinked and stayed as everyone else filed out, leaving just herself, the Queen, and one guard who stood close to her. Protection against assassination?

"So, princess Tsunami, please tell me of your lands, and in detail about this Nightwing threat."

Tsunami nodded, trying her best to take this all in stride. "I am princess of the seawings, we live in the ocean far from here, and we have many who reside in islands or coasts. I was dragged into this war because of my sister, the reigning queen of the seawings, Orca.

"Orca has... powers. You may know of Animus dragons, well, the seawings royal line has had them popping up for a very long time, and we had the misfortune of getting a queen with the powers. She's... unstable... She challenged my mother for the throne when I was still an egg, seized power and since then has been not quite a terrible queen, but certainly an overly cruel one. Her soul deteriorates as she continues to use her power.

"She made alliances with the Nightwings shortly before they first attacked the Rainwings and took most of the rainforest. Since then, I have led my wing of the alliance known as the resistance, painstakingly getting the Skywings and others to join our cause to keep the Nightwings where they are. As far as we can tell, they want to rule the world."

Tsunami fell silent, staring sadly off past Aurora, who was thinking this over, "so the Cavewing came to the south, and you were desperate enough to come here seeking allies."

Tsunami nodded.

"I can see wheren you are coming from. I am hesitant to promise anything, but when Radiance reports back to me your findings regarding the Cavewings, I will think more on it and give you a request."

Tsunami bowed, "thank you."

"No." Aurora said, "thank you. Information is often more valuable than allies."
