TW! : mention of self harm and divorce

THE 4 GHOSTS DIDNT SEEM TO HAVE ANY WORDS as they stared at the bike shop where Reggie's house used to be, Reggie pouting at the sight.

"A bike shack, right where my house used to be," he said sadly

"They made the Meyersons' house into a noodle shop, why couldn't they make mine into a pizzeria or something ?" he asked,
Olivia shook her head as she looked around.

"They tore down the whole neighbourhood" she muttered

"Guess my folks are gone," Reggie said, Olivia hadn't even thought about where their families had ended up either and she didn't want to think the worst.

"No everyone's gone,25 years gone. Friends, family, Bobby-everyone. " Alex said

"Bobby that's right, the vegetarian seriously lucked out. What do you think happened to him?" Reggie asked.

"He probably just got old and moved on like everybody else," Luke said casually which made Olivia frown.

The whole time since they'd died Lukes had been nonchalant about their whole situation and Olivia couldn't understand how he wasn't freaking out in the slightest.

"How are you so casual about this? Don't you wanna figure out what happened ?" Olivia asked with furrowed brows.

Luke shook his head and scoffed "Well let's be real for a second, it wasn't like any of us were that close with our families . My folks always regretted buying me that guitar," he said

"Reggie your parents were a fight away from a divorce " Reggies frown deepened as he looked away

"Alex i- your parents were never cool again after you told them you were gay and Olivia -" his eyes softened as the girls raised a brow anticipating what he had to say

"Ol I mean even before you stood up for Alex after he came out your parents wouldn't stop handing you shit and don't get me started on the things they said or did to you," Luke said his voice breaking slightly towards the end as Olivia inhaled deeply, eyes trained on her shoes.

Not many people knew about how Olivia was treated at home and neither did she want them to.

Her parents had always been stricter with her since they had no hope for Alex, there was one time her parents stressed her so hard she would curl her hands into fists and allow her nails to cut into her skin.

It wasn't intentional self-harm per se and she never realized she did it till Alex pointed it out one day.

The two siblings now looked at each other and grasped each other's hands tightly, not knocking how they would've possibly survived everything without each other.

"Okay, so none of us had it great but at least we had something. What do we have now- and before you say cool teleportation skills just know I'm not entirely okay with that either. Alright, it tingles, in weird places" Alex blurted out as the 3 other ghosts just watched his outburst.

"I'll tell you what we have, its what we've had since the day we came together: guys we have us. We're the only family we're ever gonna need ." Luke said passionately

"You wanna know what else we have?"

"Let me guess death breath?" Reggie responded

"Our music, you dork" Luke laughed with the most adorable smile that sent Olivia's heart into a frenzy.

"We have our music, you guys . People, actual people can hear us play! They can't see us, fine, but they can feel us. If I had my guitar I'd play for all these people right now, just like what we used to do down at the pier."

Olivia smiled at the boy's passion but the mood dipped when Alex cut in "yeah but they cant tip what they can't see." Olivia scoffed at her brother and smacked his arm.

"It's not about the tips Alex, it's about playing music," she said to face Luke with a wink, the boy couldn't help but grin at the girl and nod.

"Connecting with people, making a difference in their day." He added as he walked over to them

"I just -I just wished I had my guitar." he thought out loud but as soon as the words left his mouth, the said guitar materialized out of thin air and landed in his hands.

The 4 ghosts gaped at the guitar as Reggie and Olivia both breathed a "Woah" in unison.

"That was rad, how'd you do that?"Reggie exclaimed pointing to the guitar as Luke shrugged.

"I-i don't know i-i-i means I wished for it and then it came in my hands" Luke stuttered in amazement as Reggie closed his eyes and outstretched his palms

" i-i wish I had a puppy. A hamster? Pizza?' The boy wished but when nothing materialized in his arms he let out a groan of disappointment and kicked the sand slightly before sitting down with a pout.

Olivia and Alex exchanged glances of amusement before Luke spoke up with a smile

"Hey, I know something that might cheer you up"

Reggie turned to the guitarist with a pout and Luke started strumming the guitar.

As he strummed the upbeat melody, Olivia and Alex couldn't help but smile as Luke gestured to Alex to join in.

The blonde boy gave in and started drumming percussion-like beats against his body with his hands as Olivia snapped her fingers along to the beat.

"Come on Reginald," Alex said with a smile and the 3 ghosts looked at him expectantly as Luke started to count in "a one two three four-"

"Can you - can you hear me ?" Reggie sang with a smile and the 4 ghosts were now in full sync and rhythm

"Loud and clear" Olivia responded with a smile as she continued to snap her fingers

"We gotta get - we gotta get ready"

Many people many focused on Lukes singing when they performed as a band but Olivia always loved Reggie's husky baritone voice, they didn't use his voice enough

"Cause it's been years" Luke followed as the 4 ghosts took off down the beach singing in unison.

"Oh woah woah woahh, this band is back. Oh Woah woah woahh this band is back !"

they sang as they traveled down the beach Olivia slowly realized that the whole beach was starting to jam to their little song which caused her to sing softer but the large smile never left her face as she watched the boys continue to sing with joy.

She wished she could just freeze this moment forever

The boys didn't seem to realize that Olivia's singing had grown softer but she didn't care as they made their way down the beach .

now and then would she glance over at Luke and couldn't help but admire the dorky smile on his face that would instantly cause butterflies to erupt in her stomach but she always tried to stuff the feeling down

Little did she know the boy had been doing the same thing except he didn't try to hide his feelings.
