George's POV:

After letting Phil know about my absence for the final week of school I felt better knowing that it was less pressure on my shoulders.

Sapnap took Tubbo to school along with Karl who was staying with him.

I spent my morning on the sofa, a light blanket covering me as I sketched in a book.

"I brought you some food" she smiles, making me give an uneasy look, then taking the bowl.

I look to see cut up fruit and lightly smile, looking at her thankfully.

"Clay's mum told me, I was hoping we could talk more" She says as she takes a seat beside me.

"I'd like that" I smile, putting a chunk in my mouth and chewing.

"Did you ever have good days?" She asks, resting her arm on the back of the sofa.

"Yeah, Tubbo and I used to play a lot of games, We did a lot of drawing together"

"I know I won't ever be able to understand what your going through but I want to be able to get you any help you need if you want it"

"Thanks mum but I thought about it more and I think I'll be just fine, I think I've got this" I faintly smile at her, trying to convince the both of us.

"I know you will, you've got me and you've got your friends"

Her words linger in the air for a few moments.

"Fundy will be back at school on Wednesday" I say, putting the half empty bowl on the table in front of us.

"Are you guys friends?"

"No but I think Wilbur is convinced he's changed"

"I guess we will just have to wait and see" She faintly smiles, taking my hand.

I exhale a breath I didn't know I was holding.

"What if Clay still likes him?" I ask, looking back up at her.

"Why should that matter to you?" She smiles, secretly knowing what she was doing.

"Because- I'm just curious"

"You never answered my question from last night" She raises a brow making me look back down.

"You know the answer" I say, feeling my face heat up.

"Yeah but I just want you to say it"

"No" I look back up at her and over exaggerate a smile.

"Okay but when you guys slip up and kiss I better be the first person to know" she laughs, making me nudge her in annoyance.

"Mum!"

"I'm not kidding!" She smiles back, looking at my embarrassed state.

"Anyway have you guys got any plans when you start online schooling?"

"Not yet, we don't know how Phil plans to do it" I shrug.

"Well I do, because you're in your last year it's just assignments, your classes will set you tasks and a deadline, most of them will be big assignments that'll take time but you won't have to attend anything"

"Wait, really?" I ask.

"Yeah, although occasionally you'll have to go in, All the years bellow you will have it like normal"

"That's...really good" I smile, glad to have another excuse to just stay home.

"I was thinking of planning a holiday with some of the other mums, it's been a while since we all didn't have to be parents"

"I think that's a great idea" I say, knowing how they could all use some time to theirselves.

"Really? Because I really don't like the idea of being too far from you, I just got you back"

"Don't be ridiculous, you deserve it"

"Why don't you suggest it to the other boys? I think it'd be good for us all to get out of here" She smiles.

"I actually said to Wilbur how I wanted to get out of here for a little while"

"Perfect, then I'll talk to their mums and you talk to them? If any of them are worried about money tell them not to be, we've got it handled" I nod and move my head onto her shoulder.

"I think this'll be good for us" I say, closing my eyes and feeling her arm hold me close.

"Me too, maybe I can speak some sense into Karl's mum"

I sit up right and look at her.

"You've spoken to her? What happened between her and Karl?" I ask.

"You haven't spoken to Karl yet?"

"No I haven't had chance, everything with dad happened and then I went to see Wilbur"

"Karl moved out permanently to Nick's after she refused to leave her husband, she also knew that he was being abused and turned a blind eye"

"What a bitch-"

"George!" She gasps, slapping him lightly on his shoulder.

"Sorry! I know she's lovely and your friend but that's just as bad as dad not telling you he knew where I was" I say which makes her sigh.

"Well they split on good terms but Karl wants her to choose either him or his dad, if not he's going to stay with Nick"

"Can you blame him? If the roles were reversed you would put him first without a doubt, AND you wouldn't turn a blind eye to your child being abused" I say, my points making her speechless.

"I'll convince her otherwise, no need to worry, until then Karl is the safest place he could be" I nod knowing how ecstatic he must be to be staying with Sapnap.
