Raven's POV

"Trigon, I guess you can say, manipulated Angela into having sex with him. An—"

"Why don't you call her Mom?" Gar interrupted me.

"I was basically raised by the monks. And she was always so busy with ruling Azarath, I never really saw her and she was always called Queen Arella, so I guess it kind of got stuck. Anyways, no interrupting." I whispered softly.

He nodded, "Sorry, keep going."

"So that's how I was 'created' as Trigon puts it. My mother was in so much pain. Having a half-demon isn't the most comfortable. Even before I was born, she could feel the evil inside her. Me. People from Azarath came to her just when she was about to commit suicide. She wanted to end my life and hers at the same time. She didn't want me to be born. Anyways, people of Azarath came to her and promised to raise me to be good, that they will help me control my powers. They promised her a lot of things. And they came through. They took her to Azarath. Gave her the name of Arella which means 'the messenger angel.' When I was born, they tore me away from her. I was never to see her or talk to her again.

"I didn't have the happiest of childhoods. I was constantly told to never feel anything. The monks would ask me what I felt, I would keep saying 'confused,' 'happy,' or 'mad,' they would scream at me saying, 'No! You are to say nothing. You can feel nothing. If you feel, you will kill us all, is that what you want?' And of course I didn't. So eventually, I started feeling nothing. I was told to conceal, and not to feel. But I was allowed to make friends throughout the community. I had Jade, Nikki, and William. But Henry was my best friend. He was basically the only one who understood me at some extent. He had powers too and he was seen as a high member of the society. And of course, this was after Arella became the queen.

"Then I met Azar, she was a respected member of the community, she was often sought after for her guidance. She became my teacher. And told me that I was limited to only feeling one small emotion. But I was too use to not feeling, that I never did. I've always had that monotone voice since I was four and was able to speak properly." I paused and then took a deep breath.

"The monks then came to Azar and me with a warning. They had looked into my future. They saw that on the sixteenth anniversary of my birth, something bad was going to happen. They started to search things. It all connected to Trigon. Then they found the prophecy. The Gem was born of evil's fire. The Gem shall be His portal. He comes to claim, He comes to sire. The end of all things mortal. They started to panic. Then when I turn fifteen, Trigon came to Azarath in search of me. The next part, I can't tell you because it hurts to remember..." I started to cry softly.

"It's okay, Rae. Don't worry." Gar said sitting up and stroking my cheek.

"But I'll show you?" I suggested.

Gar nodded and then laid down again. I breathed in and then called forth the memory. I waved my hand over his head and a screen-like mist appeared. The picture was perfect and everything was clear. Then it started.

*************

Beast Boy's POV

A screen appeared in front of me. I could see a picture of Raven. She was looking into a mirror, but not the one that takes her to Nevermore, but a real, normal mirror.

Then she started to move her fingers through her long, violet hair, brushing it. There was a knock at the door. Raven's vision moved from the mirror to the door. She walked away from the mirror and towards a bed and sat. "Come in."

"Princess Rachel, your mother would like to see." A servant, I imagine, said.

Raven let out a scoff, "After all this time now she wants to see me." Even before she had that sarcastic remark.
