Emily's P.O.V
''Susan'' I looked at my former best friend
''Hello Emily'' she said awkwardly.
''You know each other?'' dr. lee asked
''We do. Susan meet my friend and my therapist Dr. Lee'' I introduced her
They exchanged a few hello's and soon dr. lee left.
''What are you doing here?'' I asked her
''Well.. umm your mom sort of called my mom an hour ago and told her everything. I heard and thought of visiting'' she said
''Susan's mom and my mother were very good friends. They always told each other everything and they sometimes spent the weekend together. That's how me and Susan became friends. But after we sort of drifted apart things got awkward between me and her.
''Your mom told you to come didn't she?'' I asked her. I knew she would never willingly come and meet me. She must have got pressured by her mom.
''Yes she did'' Susan came and sat in a chair that was next to my bed.
''You good?'' she asked
''I am, you?''
''I'm great'' she said calmly.
We just sat in the silence for five minutes. It's not that I had a problem with her or anything. It's just that she had different interests. We drifted apart because of that and moreover she thought I was clingy. Long story short I wasn't good enough or cool enough to be her friend. So she just ditched me.
''I have to go home now but it was good to see you'' she reached inside her shoulder bag and removed a book. '' Here, I had this with me for a few years, I couldn't give it to you''
Somehow I knew she was here to end our friendship. This was it
''You know what why don't you hold on to it'' I told her.
''Really? Okay cool then, goodbye Emily'' she said that and left
I sighed. Well that went well. I never really liked that book anyways
