Venturing deep into his mind was not something Vergil has done in quite some time. But when he heard that familiar voice, he made it a priority. He finds himself wandering towards a familiar structure of sorts. Looking up, he notices a neon sign over the front doors.
Vergil: Hm...
He goes through the front doors, and at the front desk is a pair of boots kicked up. The person's face is masked by a magazine, with the front cover being a woman in a bikini. But he knew the voice that spoke to him.
???: Hey, bro. Took you some time getting here.
Lowering their legs, Vergil almost smiles at the sight of his own brother.
Vergil: Dante...
His usual smirk on his face, Dante puts down the magazine he's holding.
Dante: Heh, it's been some time. Look at ya! You've gotten older!
A small chuckle escaping his lips, Vergil shakes his head.
Vergil: I don't want to hear that from you, brother. Standing from here, I can see that stubble on your chin.
Dante: Eh, I'd shave it, but I'm too lazy.
Vergil: Of course you are.
The two of them smile to each other, when Vergil lets out a solemn breath.
Vergil: Dante...I'm sorry...
The younger of the two tilts his head at the words of his brother.
Dante: Hm? What for?
Vergil: What do you think? For not being able to help you, Mother or Father. You all died, because I did nothing. Letting those damned Grimm rampage in our own home, those White Fang organizing the attack...I know I don't deserve your forgiveness, but just know that your failure of a brother won't let them rest peacefully.
Gazing at Vergil for a moment, Dante gets up from his chair, and walks over to the side of his desk, where his weapon Devil Sword Dante is leaning.
Dante: I don't blame you for what happened. Apparently, ol' Pops had some friends, but along with them came lots of enemies. Actually, I think it was more like...having one friend gave him two enemies. That's how Mom worded it, at least.
