Chapter 9 - Consequences

Dark, it was so dark. Everything was black.

Screams could be heard in the empty space.

Hurts, It hurts so much everywhere.

His whole body was in pain.

He screamed.

But the feeling of power surging through him...it felt so good.

He wheezed, blood dripping down his chin.

"Naruto?"

"Stop this. Come back."

"Wake up."

A light touch of the hand. 

A whisper.

"Remember, this is all your fault."

"Naruto....Stop...why are you doing this!?" Kiba cried out as he dodged an attack from the Uzumaki only to be kicked in the back, his vision blurring.

"I told you, didn't I?" Naruto grinned as he grabbed Kiba by the collar, throwing him away. 

Kiba groaned, stumbling as he stood up. "Stop...I don't want to hurt you, Naruto."

"Hurts...me?" Naruto whispered. "You can't hurt me....break....me..break.....I'm....." Tears stained his eyes. "already torn apart."

"N-Naruto...." Kiba groaned, his consciousness slowly slipping away.

"Friend.......Good...Best friends."

Naruto smiled.

He reached out a hand.

Kiba's eyes widened.

Dark, it was so dark.

One step.

When glass....

Two steps.

Falls...

Three steps.

Into pieces....

Four steps.

They....

The fifth step.

What...could've changed?

Tears stained his eyes as he took his step forward.

The wind blew at his face.

"Naruto!!!"

"Huh?" He spun around, meting green eyes. 

"Say, ahh!" 

His eyebrows raised in amusement as a spoon of rice was placed in his mouth.

"This is embarrassing, you know," he said.

"But you're so cute," Sakura grinned. "Nevermind, where's Sasuke? It's his turn."

"I doubt he'd let you feed him," Naruto sweatdropped.

"I'll see that he does," Sakura cackled.

Naruto smiled as he watched his pink haired teammate run away.

What could've changed if they accepted me?

He stood up and stared at the flowing river.
