Akim was almost normal after that night. Nagkukulit pa rin naman sya, niyayamot pa rin ako huwag lang nya maririnig ang pangalan ni Philip o makikita sya nagtotoyo na.
Well, I can understand him. He knew how long I've loved Philip and he's just too afraid of me not loving him that much.
Akim invited me to a party tonight, he even sends me a gown I should wear kaya naman I decided to bring myself to a decent salon for a good make-up. Something that my date won't be embarrassed to show me off to the crowd.
"Liezel, I'm off now."
"Okay Ma'am. Samahan ko pa po ba kayo?"
"No need na Liezl. And yes, go ahead, ireport mo na kay Akim."
Liezel laughed because of guilt. Si Liezel kasi ang naging spy ni Akim sa lahat ng ginagawa ko. I pretend not to know but God! Akim asks Liezel about everything I do!
"Sige po Ma'am, ingat at magpaganda kayong mabuti."
"Okay, bye Liezel."
"Ay Maam, nakuha na rin po ng Salon yung gown nyo."
"Sige, salamat."
I was walking towards the salon when Philip appeared again. Haii! Akim would get really really mad at him this time. Napakakulit ni Philip.
"Dana."
"Philip!"
"Dana, please, all I ask is one more chance!"
"Philip. Gago kang talaga ano??!!"
"Dana!"
"Philip get off me!"
"Dana, you listen."
"No! Tigilan mo na ako."
Philip held my hand so tight.
"Dana, please."
Hindi na ako nagsalita, I just did my best para makawala ako sa hawak nya. And when I had the chance to be released from his grip, I run away from him, unfortunately, I was almost hit by a car but Philip saved me kaya sya ang mas napuruhan.
"Philip!"
"Philip!"
"Oh My God! Philip, wake up! Wake up!"
Hindi ko alam kung gaano kami katagal sa pinangyarihan ng aksidente because I just had my senses back when the doctor talked to me. What I know is he was hit by a car.
"Ms?"
"Miss."
"Doc."
"Is there a part of you that is painful? Do you have any wounds?"
I shook my head. Ginalaw nung doctor yung left arm ko.
"Aw."
"You sprained your left arm. We'll put a bandage and arm sling."
I nodded.
"Ma'am!"
"Liezel."
"Maám, okay lang po ba kayo?"
"I am okay, can you help call Akim and tell him I can't accompany him to the party. I need to check on Philip."
"Maám?"
Hindi ko na pinansin si Liezl. Nung maikabit na sa akin ang arm sling, I looked for Philip. Unfortunately, he was being operated kaya nagmadaling pumunta ako sa may operating room, andoon ang parents ni Philip.
"Tita, Tito."
"Are you okay hija?"
I nodded.
"Si Philip po?"
"He's really not in good shape."
Philip's mother cried.
"I told him so many times to leave that girl! She manipulated Philip into leaving you hija. Philip loves you, he wants to be with you pero sinira kayo ng babaeng yun."
Surely, nakakagulat ang revelation ng Mommy ni Philip but I didn't mind. What I am more concern is how is he now.
I do not want him near me again, I do not want him to be with me again, but I never wish him harm.
"How can my Philip repay his mistakes when he is like this? Mahal ka lang naman nya Dana. He just wanted to win you back."
I sighed and hugged Philip's mother. I may not be the kindest person in this world but I cannot just turn my back on them.
Hindi ko alam kung anong dapat kong maramdaman sa panahon ngayon. I was so exhausted by the guilt I am feeling right now. Hindi ko na alam. All I think is that Philip needs to be well. He needs to wake up and be well or I will be miserable all my life.
"Dana!"
"Mom."
I hugged my mother and cried.
"Mare, you let Dana go home and rest, kami na ang bahala. We'll inform you of his status."
"Halika na Dana. You need to rest."
"No Mom, let's stay."
"But you need to rest."
"We need to stay or I might go ahead of him."
"Okay, we'll stay."
I was praying so hard for Philip to wake up. I was praying hard that he'll be okay. I don't want us to end up all miserable.
"Dana!"
"Akim."
I hugged Akim so tight. Hindi ko alam ang gagawin ko.
"Dana, calm down."
"Akim, I felt so guilty. He was hit because of me."
"Dana, it's not your fault."
"It is!"
My heart is busting with too much guilt. Hindi ko ata kaya, hindi ko kakayanin kung ano man ang masamang mangyari.
