I don't know why I trusted Akim so much. Our trip to that far place was exhausting if only Akim wasn't there.
I sighed, such a shame that the time to be here's over. It was just overnight but it was such a wonderful time.
"Thank you po Tito Darren, Tita Margaret."
"I hope you enjoy your stay Hija."
"Yes, Tita."
"Uuna na po kami Tito, Tita."
"Osya sige Akim, paano? Mamumulong na kita sa isang linggo?"
"Tito, wala pa."
"Nakow ay nampagkakahina eh!"
"Ang Tito talaga."
"Aysya, sige lakad na kayo at baka kayoý gabihin. Sabihin mo sa Mommy ay dumalaw dine. "
"Sige po Tito."
"Ay Akim, areng magandang are ay h'wag nang pakawal-an ha? Ikaý umeedad na."
"Sige po Tito, Tita."
"Ingat kayo, bumalik kayo ha?"
I smiled at the lovely couple. Sobrang hospitable nila. Hindi ko masyado naintindihan ang pinagusapan nila Akim pero hindi ako magtatanong because Akim won't tell me.
I never knew I'd experience these things. Because all my life, I'd been too enclosed with the idea of me being a wife of someone busy. Hindi ko naisip na pwede pala ang ganito, na pwede palang ienjoy ng ganito ang buhay. All I know is buying things equates to happiness, love, and peace, I never thought of them as part of happy memories.
I was never a fan of hiking, I do not enjoy nature that much but Akim made me. He made me like it that happiness in my heart was bigger than my whole being.
"Happy?"
I smiled at Akim.
"Bawi na ako? Bati na tayo?"
"Hmmn, let me think."
"Sa dami ng nakain mong tinola hindi mo pa rin ba ako papatawarin?"
"Wow, yun ang batayan mo?"
Akim laughed.
"I hope I really made you happy Dana."
"You do."
Akim smiled.
"Do you know that you are getting prettier when you smile?"
"Bolero ka no?"
"No."
I rolled my eyes.
"Dana,..."
"Hmmmmnnn?"
"Now that you know who really am I, do I stand a chance?"
"Chance?"
"Dana, if it isn't obvious I like you, I really do."
"You're good at making me off guard, aren't you?"
"Better than saying No."
I tried closing my eyes so I can buy some time. I want to enjoy this first, I want to feel every bit of this moment.
"You don't have to close your eyes and pretend to be sleeping. Sayang ang view sa labas."
"Akim,.."
"You know Dana, I am not an extremely patient person. I got pissed so easily. But I know how to wait when it's not yet due."
I sighed.
