Dana
The bitches calls a meeting again. Hindi na sana ako pupunta kaya lang ayoko namang maging loser sa kanila. If I don't go, they would be talking about me non stop. So I arrived late.
"Dana, usapan natin 1pm, 2:30 ka na dumating oh."
"I'm sorry, let me just pay up for everything you ordered."
"Alam mo, there's something new in you."
I shrugged. The only new to me is instead of wanting to pour boiling water on their heads, I already want to kill them.
"Dana, we heard that your wedding with Philip is really not pushing through, totoo ba? Okay ka lang ba?"
"Do I look like I'm not okay?"
"Hindi naman, pero tandaan mo Dana, friends mo kami. We are all here for you."
I rolled my eyes at her.
"Anyway, my husband had a colleague. Si Congressman Tim, single yun. You want a blind date with him?"
"No thank you."
"Or you want a police officer?"
"No."
"Or yung bestman sa kasal namin, he's a lawyer."
"No."
"Dan, we are out of calendar days already. We need to marry soon. Ayaw mo naman siguro maging old maid."
I keep sipping my coffee and don't mind them.
"Dana, you need to listen to us. You can't live alone. Look at me, I'm happy with my husband."
Ayoko na sanang patulan pero naiinis na din talaga ako. Imagine, the husband he's bragging used to be head over heels with me back in college. Nakailang pahiya din ako dahil kung ano ano ang ginawa ng asawa nya para magpapansin sa akin.
"Really?"
Crissy looked at me. Well, they all stared at me.
"Do you all remember how your husband cried and shouted in the university telling everybody he's gonna die if I don't say yes to him?"
They all look flustered.
"I am so happy he didn't die. Thank you Crissy, for making him still live."
The three other girls laughed. Akala netong mga to. I was enjoying this so much. While Crissy's fuming mad at me. I even called for cakes.
"Dana, mayroon ulit outreach program sa weekend." Pagbubukas ng topic ni Moira
"No, I'm not gonna join."
"But Dana."
"No."
"Pero ano nga palang nangyari sa'yo? We lost you that day. Buti na lang at sumagot si Tita sa tawag namin."
"Someone fetched me so I was able to go before the commotions."
"Sino naman ang sumundo sayo? Akala namin napahamak ka na."
"Really? I thought you were praying for it."
"What? Di kami ganyang kasama ha."
"Oonga Dana, I even asked Manong to look around for you."
The other girls stupidly agree. If they really tried looking for me, I should have been found.
"I was just kidding."
"Paano ba yan, parating na daw ang asawa ko."
"Ang sa akin din, kasama pa nga daw ang mga bata."
