"Meredith? Ellis, our daughter?" Derek said

Meredith started to panic while she was trying to get up which isn't very smart after brain surgery

"Mer.. stay still, wait I'm gonna show you a picture"

"She's 5 now" He said while showing a picture of the whole family

"Derek.. I.. How can.. I not.. remember.. my own daughter"

"Mer, it's normal. Retrograde amnesia, common in post-op patients.. it will return"

"What if.. it's.. alzheimers?" She asked sadly "I shouldn't have survived this surgery I.. Derek..I.. I can't do this"

"Mer shh.. It will be fine, calm down" He said as the machines were beeping

"What's going on" Miranda said while walking in

Meredith turned away her head so Bailey couldn't see she was crying and in total fear

Derek climbed in the hospital bed with his wife to calm her down. Being careful of all the tubes and wires around her very thin body

"Try to sleep some more Mer" He whispered

Meanwhile Bailey was giving her something to calm down and she fastly fell asleep

A few hours later

Meredith was opening her eyes

"Mer, hey" Derek whispered

"Hi" She said

"How is your pain?"

"A 7.. Maybe an 8" She confessed

"I'll ask someone to give you something for the pain"

"Hey Meredith, I need you to try to speak as much as possible in full clear sentences." Amelia said while walking in

"Okay"

"Meredith, can you tell me about the kids?"

"Ellis.. how.. how could I forget about her"

"It's back?" Derek said

"Yeah.. my baby girl.. Derek I.. I wanna see.. the kids"

"Can you tell me something about Derek?" Amelia asked

"He's my husband.. we've been.. married for a.. a while now.."

"You're doing good, try to speak as much as possible, I'll come back soon"

"She's fine." She added to Derek on her way out the door.

Derek went down to get the kids, he took them to his office to explain what had happened to their mother

"So everything went very well with mommy's surgery. She's back in her room now. There are still a lot of tubes around her body and she has a bad headache but the tumor is out" He smiled while telling them

They nodded and walked over to Meredith's room

"Mommy?" Zola asked which made Meredith wake up

"Hey, I've missed you all"

"Can we hug mommy?" Ellis asked Derek

"Yes but remember what I said, you have to be careful" He said before lifting the kids on the hospital bed

"I've missed you mommy" Zola said

"Mommy, you're so strong" Bailey said

"I love you mommy" Ellis said
