quarantine

Jade always hated being alone. Honestly, she sort of feared it more than anything. It was when her thoughts were at their loudest and her mind wandered further than she'd like to admit. Sure, she'd write some pretty great poems that on occasion later get turned into songs but for the most part, Jade hated being alone.

When the UK went into its first quarantine, she wasn't particularly jazzed about it. It meant that she couldn't see people that she loved everyday and she couldn't go out and at least distract herself from her own mind. It meant that she couldn't go to work (which at first seemed appealing but the novelty quickly wore off). Worst of all, it meant that she couldn't see her girlfriend.

Well, technically she could but considering both of their unfortunate high interest rate in the British media and if one of them was photographed arriving or leaving the other's house, they were more than positive that all hell would break loose if they quarantined together or bounced between their houses every week or so. So, for PR reasons, the two quarantined in their separate homes (much to their despair).

Jade and Perrie got into somewhat of a routine as the days rolled on. Jade tended to wake up earlier, so she would send a good morning text to the blonde as she made her morning cup of tea. Once Perrie woke up, she would respond to said text and get ready for her day. Around lunch time, Perrie would check in with Jade to make sure that Jade was eating enough and then they'd spend the rest of the day sporadically sending each other texts and talking about what they were doing. By the time dinner rolled around, the couple would sit down at their respective tables and have dinner over facetime. Perrie, being the resident chef of pair, would tend to have some sort of homemade dish while Jade ordered take out. From there, they'd spend the rest of the night on Facetime together, eventually falling asleep with their phones still on and pointed at their sleeping figures.

Perrie could tell that Jade's mental health was declining when she mentioned that she couldn't fall asleep. It got to the point where Jade was pulling all nighters on accident and falling asleep randomly in the middle of the day. Perrie was well aware of how Jade tended to be when she had to be alone, which was normally avoided at all costs by the older girl, but unfortunately they couldn't exactly arrange for Perrie to stay with Jade all because of the stupid British press. And to set a good example for their fans and the public or whatever.

The blonde hated seeing Jade look so tired and drained all the time and so from afar, she tried everything. She ordered melatonin gummies to be delivered to Jade's flat. When those didn't work, Perrie sent over CBD oil, which worked for a little bit until Jade had a slight allergic reaction to it and had to stop using it. Perrie tried to convince her girlfriend to do some sort of exercise or workout during the day to try and tire her out, but Jade was having none of it.

Eventually, Perrie figured out that whenever they had, well, explicit Facetime calls, Jade would fall asleep shortly after out of exhaustion.

So that was Perrie's new game plan.

Jade's sex drive was always high, the couple were more than aware of this. All it took was the quick purchase of a pink rabbit vibrator off of Amazon and some dirty talk and Perrie was able to get Jade on a relatively normal sleep schedule for a little over two weeks. However, they hit another speed bump when Jade's body started to get worn out and they had to stop for the time being.

Perrie needed another plan of attack.

She tried getting Jade to use various techniques she learned about online like tensing her entire body and then slowly releasing that tension limb by limb or telling herself to stay awake and use some sort of reverse psychology but to no avail.

Eventually, Perrie was faced with no other option to get her love to sleep through the night. She knew what she had to do.

One night Perrie told Jade a white lie that her mum wanted to catch up so she wouldn't be able to call for dinner later. Jade thought this was a bit odd but she didn't say anything, rather she agreed and told her to say hi to Debbie for her. However, instead of actually engaging in a phone call with her mother, Perrie packed a bag with a weeks worth of clothes in preparation of staying over at her girlfriend's place until they had to go into work to film their latest music video. After a quick goodbye to her cousin Ellie, Perrie had her bag thrown in the back of her car and she was speeding down the motorway. She timed it perfectly so that when she arrived at Canary Wharf it was approximately the same time it got dark so she could sort of sneak into the brunette's building without being noticed by any potential paparazzi or fans.

Perrie pressed the button with Jade's floor on it and spent the ride up anticipating seeing the brunette in person for the first time in months. Sure they would've seen each other at work in a week but that wouldn't be the same. They'd have to be somewhat professional and listen to social distancing guidelines and that's no fun when all Perrie wanted to do was hold her girlfriend in her arms and kiss her for as long as humanly possible.

When Perrie reached Jade's door, she took a deep breath before ringing the doorbell. She could hear someone approaching the door and once it swung open, her eyes met with her favorite pair of brown ones.

"Perrie!" Jade squealed and instantly jumped into the blonde's arms. The two stood in the hallway leading to Jade's flat for far longer than necessary, rocking back in forth in the others arms and exchanging many kisses.

"I thought you were just calling yer mam today,"

"I will later, but I needed to make sure my baby was getting enough sleep," Perire said in between kisses, "That and I missed you so damn much,"

"I missed you too,"

Needless to say, Jade slept really well that night. Turns out that when her other half is with her, sleep is one of the easiest things to do.
