Wisdom glorifies the Light, and the Light illuminates Wisdom. This unified duality is expressed most perfectly in the relationship of Jesus and Magdalene. Time and again in the old texts we find Mary expounding and interpreting Christ's teaching. Like the dark cave in which a single candle flame blazes like a star, so Mary's wisdom reveals the full glory of Christ. And similarly, the Light illuminates True Wisdom, exposing its emptiness of self-will, and its singular fidelity to the realisation of the soul's liberation from material shackles.
