The darkness has always been associated with evil and we have to get out of that mindset. Darkness is just the flipside of the coin, the second piece of the jigsaw without which the picture of the universe we hold in our hearts and minds is incomplete, lop-sided and biased. The darkness is the progenitrix of the Light, for without it the Light means nothing. The darkness births the light which was never born and in the depths of this Womb is the nativity of the Perfect Aeon, the Light of lights, the First Mystery revealed. This darkness is the Wisdom that touches the prophets, it is the Revelator that weds itself to the soul that the soul cries out to the Light that blazes nova-like in its presence.
The darkness is not evil, it is the foundation of our awakening. The sunrise would be lost on a world that did not pass first through the night hours. It is the canvas of the pre-dawn sky that makes the sunrise glorious, that draws our eyes toward those rays and a new day. And it is the Wisdom of Sophia in the Magdalene's voice that turns our own eyes to the Light that rises from within and embraces Sophia to marry Love and Wisdom at the altar of our hearts.
