I'm sitting in first hour when they call me to the office. I don't even react, just gather my things and take my time as I walk down the hall. When I get into the office, the blonde girl is sitting in a chair. I sit next to her and stare st the principal.

"This her?" Principal Wilkinson asks.

Blondie nods.

"Alright. You're free to go."

She nods and walks off. I clench my fists.

"Mia. Mia, Mia, Mia." He takes his glasses off and rubs his temples. "What's up? What's been going on? Why are you acting like this? Aren't you happy with that new girl? Man, I know her name-"

"Olivia," I tell him.

He nods. "Yes. So what's going on?"

I shrug. "Parents, people. Everything."

"If you're wanting any chance of escaping harsh consequences, you best open up."

I'm not dumb. I live in a small town filled with small-minded people. So, of course, I keep my mouth shut.
