The Soft Spot
Madelyn Brooks has lived the majority of her life feeling as if she was living in her older sister's shadow. Growing up, Jacqueline Brooks was the human embodiment of perfection in Madelyn's eyes - she practically worshipped the ground that her sister walked on. Jacqueline had the looks, the brains, and most importantly, all the boys.
With Jacqueline came Jaxon Taylor - the son of their family's closest friends, Jacqueline's best friend since birth, and most importantly, Madelyn's childhood crush. Since high school, Jaxon has been well-aware of the affect that he has on women and has used it to his advantage every single day. Despite his womanizing ways, the only people that he would drop anything for were the Brooks sisters.
Several years later, Jacqueline moves to Australia to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a marine biologist, just as Madelyn moves back home after completing university.
Little did Madelyn know that Jacqueline arranged for the infinitely more handsome Jaxon to pick her up from the airport and watch out for her until she returned home.
Little did Jaxon know that he wouldn't be picking up the shy, quiet younger sister that he remembered from four years ago. Instead, he was picking up a smart, witty, and confident woman that Jacqueline forgot to mention would be an even bigger handful than he initially thought.
