Cameron Beckett is a surfer, plain and simple. She never goes a day without hitting the waves. And it works, it's easy even, because she and her dad live in a beach house on the coast of Southern California. But, suddenly her dad is told he will be stationed in Washington, D.C., a place nearly all the way across the country, and nowhere near a beach. So what will happen when Cameron is cut off from her home, her friends, her waves? Perhaps she'll soon discover that what's true in surfing can also be true in life: it's not always about staying on the board; sometimes it's just about popping back up.
