The novel was titled "The Road to Redemption". It was set in a post-apocalyptic world, where the main character, Jack, had been struggling to survive in a world ravaged by war and disease.

I'm not sure if I'm keeping my sanity, but being out of my mind is the only thing keeping me sane yet.
