After an ill-received proposal, a few stolen heirlooms, and a mutual exchange of harsh words, Filomena finds herself in the company of an unwilling dwarven king, Thorin Oakenshield. On a quest for adventure and reclamation, Filomena and her cousin, Bilbo, must break free of the silken safety blanket of the Shire and survive in the big world. Of course, it's hard to make it big when a king doesn't like you. Will Filomena and Bilbo make it to the end of the quest? Or will a stubborn-headed king do everything in his power to break the little woman? Will Thorin be able to stay true to his own beliefs and morals? Or will an intoxicatingly fierce hobbit break down his walls? Read to find out ;) NOTE: This work dips heavily into BOTH the films and book and "rewrites" some of the outcomes and character impacts.
