When a wealthy businessmen Richard Cross is found murdered in his home, and all evidence points to his missing wife, Evelyn Cross. Tasked with prosecuting the case, Ada believes in the system, in rules, and in keeping her emotions locked away. Thomas, defending Evelyn, believes the truth is messier- and that sometimes the law gets it wrong. As the case unfolds, cracks appear in the prosecution story's.
